I'm 30 and concerned myself, i think if we eat sensibly and don't overdo things, things should be fine, it's a very scary time

Hi there - Im 39 this is my thrid "older mother pregnancy". As long as you have good antenatal care all should go smoothly. I have two healthy girls with this last pregnancy not planned. I I also gave birth as a "younger mother" and found the "older mother experience" much more easy to manage. Good luck

You run a higher risk of having a downs syndrome baby. My fact sheet states: Age 35 has a 1/270 chance of having a DS baby compared to someone who is age 31 (1/650). However, since many DS babies miscarry or are not carried to term due to choice, the actual "liveborn" stats are: Age 35 (1 in 385) and Age 31 (1 in 915). ------ I hope this info was useful. Good luck.

Also, If you give me your actual age, I can tell you the stats for that age.
