It doesn't make your baby come early, but sometimes once your placenta is a grade 3 (which it usually is at 40 wks.) it does not "work" as well as it should and the baby could stop getting the nutrients it needs which causes the baby to stop growing, if this happens they will take the baby early so it can grow outside the womb. They thought I had a grade 2-3 placenta at 33 wks. so I went back at 36 wks. to check and see how baby was doing. He had gained a pound and 10 ounces. So they were not concerned as long as he was growing.

hi- they said the placenta is fine, it is calcifying but only moderately, she had only put on 3oz in 2 weks tho but she is right size for dates so nothing to worry about. have another scan in 2 weeks when i'm 39 weeks just to keep an eye on things, hoping i'm early!! how far are you?
