I am 7.5 wks pregnant. I have had a black/dark bowel movement. Is this normal amongst pregnant women??? I am concerned. Please let me know if you have had the same problem. This has only happened once so far.

not to be gross, but what kind of bm's have you been having so far?

I would go see you obgyn, or call. I had a friend that had black stool, it was black due to blood present in the stool which can be of several reasons, get it checked out.

Normal, no problems or discoloration.

I was asking b/c mine were harder, and darker when I was pregnant. But hilary is right, get it checked! HAs it happened again? Any other weird symptoms?

No, it seems OK today. I happened on the same day which I had morning sickness and actually threw up - I am thinking that maybe when I threw up (sorry if this is kinda gross) because it was just yellow stomach acid that it may have cause a bit of bleeding which resulted in the dark BM. Thanks for the concern!

My Dad once had black stool and it worried us- it turns out he had been eating Oreos and that's what caused it. Seriously. I just wanted to mention it in you've been eating Oreos, too. I know it is silly, but I thought it might help.
