Unhealthy Baby

My husband and I are trying to concieve a baby. We have just decided to begin trying so I have had a few questions. I have done tons of reading on ovulation cycles and when the best time is to actually concieve a child is and from this stems my question. I read that after so long your egg will begin to deteriorate if not fertilized. Is it possible to fertilize an egg that has begun to deteriorate? Possible making an unhealthy baby?

Wow, I have never heard of that. I got pregnant on the 7th day of my cycle with this pregnancy. We had been trying for over two years and were always trying from day 9 on. Well I guess I have been ovulating earlier now. We got pregnant with our daughter on the 13th day. She is 4 now. I would just say to try every other day starting from day four or so. I know that seems early but a long time ago a dr told me that most pregnancies happen around the 4th day and I think it has something to do with women or teens thinking that you can't get pregnant while on your period. Good luck!

The egg only lives for 24hrs during ovulation. I highly doubt that it can deteriorate because it doesn't stay in your system long enough. I've never heard of that before. Good Luck
