Kickboxing

I'm wondering if kickboxing is safe while I'm pregnant. I was going to keep doing it until I get too big, but I want to be sure it's OK. I've cut out the ab workout only because it seems pointless, is that true?

I'm a__suming you're talking about cardio kickboxing, and not any actual contact. You definitely should check with your doctor, but several people in my kickboxing cla__s kept it up until they got big enough that balance became an issue. You should be able to just take it a little easier and continue with what you feel comfortable with.

Thanks for the info, and yes it's cardio kickboxing, not combat. You must have thought I was crazy. This is my 3rd pregnancy, the first two with healthy babies, but this time I'm feeling pessimistic, apprehensive, not sure what it is. I guess I feel like my odds are stacking against me for having another healthy baby.

strong ab muscles apparently make labor easier, i'm not sure why, and i've never given birth so i don't know how much it actually helps

Hey Korin- I read your post & wanted to check in & see what you decided. My kickboxing instructor still team-taught cla__s (sort of) until she was like 35 weeks. I'm 5 weeks and I'm questioning what to do. Let me know how it goes!

Hi, I'm 30 weeks and took a cardio kickboxing cla__s just the other day! Yes, you can do it. I just keep the kicks *really* low, otherwise, I would lose my balance, and focus primarily on the punches.
