3 Sacs All Different Sizes No Yolk No Hb

i've tried to research into my problem i currently have but i can not find anyone who has been through the same situation. if anybody could share their experiences with me who have a similar problem i would be very grateful. i have had 2 previous miscarriages early in pregnancy 5 wks), so when i found out i was pregnant again i was very concerned. my midwife referred me to the early preg assesment unit at my local hospital to check viability. my first u/s was at 6 wks and the sonographer showed me 2 distinct sacs, one slightly smaller, but no yolk or hb and the larger sac was showing only 4-5 wks developed. i know my dates are correct, so i was very concerned that the sacs were showing alot smaller. i was not concerned about no hb really, because i knew it may not be picked up at 6 wks. the fact that was 2 sacs did surprise me though seen as though we have no twins or multiples on my mothers side of the family. so, 1 week later when i was 7 weeks pregnant i had another u/s and t/v scan (internal). this time the sonographer showed me 3 sacs! i didnt know what to think. but she also said she was very sorry because there was no yolk sac or hb detected in any. she also said they all appear to have come from 3 different eggs. this really surprised me, releasing 3 eggs?! BUT, they had grown a weeks worth. one was 5-6 wks (still behind though from my lmp), one was 4-5 wks and the smallest was 4 wks. i dont understand why? 4 wks is 3 wks behind my 7 wks of pregnancy, but it's still growing, all of the sacs are. and they are growing at the correct rate from when they have been picked up. well, i thought that was it, i had 3 blighted ovums all at once. i was devasted at the thought of loosing 3 all in one go. when i took the sonographers report back to the early preg unit the nurse (after much discussion with obs/gyns and doctors that may help) she told me there was still some hope. this is based on the sacs still growing i think, and my pregnancy symptoms in full swing. i have to go for another scan next week to check again, but i do truely believe they are all blighted ovums (ova). i just dont understand why i released 3 eggs and why all of them have developed at different rates but all of them are still growing? i do hope they will pick something up in my next scan, but im expecting the worst. does anybody have ANY idea what, why or how this has happened, i cant find any similar stories at all. the only thing i can think is that i have a hormonal problem that causes multiple egg release, and that the eggs are immature/poor quality causing the blighted ova.

also on my last scan it showed a bulky uterus (as expected with pregnancy), no free fluid in uterus (no bleeding) and a lueteal on my ovary measuring 24mm 24mm 25mm. the lueteal is there in a normal pregnancy, it allows the body to keep producing progesterone/oestrogen. so everything is showing normal but the actual sacs. if it is 3 blighted ova, when will they all stop growing and when will my body recognise the loss?

Just reading your post. Im sorry I don't have any experience like what you described. I lost my baby at 6 months due to poor growth and placenta previa.Am now 5 weeks pregnant just 4 months after my loss. I would very much like to find out what's happened to you so far if you don't mind sharing.

hi. as thought, i was diagnosed with 3 blighted ova on 20th april. i went in to have a D and C the next day. i am off to the doctors today to be referred for investigation as this was my 3rd miscarriage in a row. i was hoping they would do chromosomal tests on the evacuated pregnancies but nothing was done. have you had any scans yet to check early development? sorry for your loss, i can not imagine what that must have been like, especially so far in to the pregnancy. i have my fingers crossed for you in this new pregnancy :)

Im really sorry, I know you said you were expecting the worse but I know deep down we all hope that we are wrong and that things will turn out fine. Im having a scan next Wednesday, to be honest im not feeling very excited about this pregnancy because I didn't have a good outcome the last time. Having said that, Im praying that things will be different but if they're not, I will try again and again and again until I get what I want. Good luck with the investigation, hopefully they will have some answers that will help you next time around.
