5 Positives Then A Negative

On November 7, I found out I was four weeks pregnant. On November 9, I started having cramps. I have one child so I thought this was normal. I had 5 positive hpt's. On November 12, I started spotting and by the next morning I was having moderate bleeding. I went to the e.r. and the doctor did a blood test. The doctor told me test returned negative and that I was never pregnant. He said that I was having abnormal bleeding which he described as any kind of bleeding outside of a regular period. I continued to bleed for about five days. I passed pretty large blood clots also. Has anyone experienced this kind of situation? and were you really pregnant or not? I don't know what is going on. I also haven't had a period since this took place five weeks ago.

I really doubt that FIVE hpts would all be wrong. It sounds to me like a chemical pregnancy, which COULD explain why your cycle has been off since although most women continue on to have a normal cycle.

i had the same thing in June 2006 and it was a chemical pregnancy. heavier than a normal period and a bit late from your regular time with a positive test... so sorry this happened... it can mess up your cycles... your period should show up soon....

I agree with both of the girls above. I definatly think you were pregnant. Sounds definatly like a chemical pregnancy. It has a way of having enough HCG to show up on a test.. but it falls quickly when the fertilized is unable to implant properly. ~Kristin~

Thank you all so much for responding. I thought I was a little crazy.
