Anybody Else Feel Emotionally Quot Blah Quot

Hi gals. Just a quick recap on the history to give you an idea of where I'm at on my journey....mc Feb 2005, mc Feb 2006 and now my dh and I are ttc again. Actually have been since April, just hasn't happened yet. Anyway, I have like many others been feeling very down about the whole situation. But I realize lately that I am just "blah" (for lack of a better word). Not just baby-related stuff, I just seem to lack emotion or excitement about anything. And even if I do find something exciting or entertaining, I can't seem to express it. It's like I'm emotionally paralyzed or something. I am sure this is the same as or similar to a mild form of depression. I'll bet if I got professional help or counseling they'd give me a low dose of something to boost me up!! But of course we can't take that when ttc anyway, so no point in that. I know the fix is getting pregnant, but in the meantime, what do i do? Any constructive advice for me? ANyone feeling the same way?

All I can say is that I have similar feelings. My husband and I weren't trying to conceive when it just happened. Then as soon as it happened, it was gone. Not that I had a lot of time to think about it, but now everytime that I see a pregnancy/newborn related thing I get that overwhelming feeling of sadness. It's not that I want a baby (like you do), but I want the one I lost. The only advice I can give you is that pregnancy won't be a fix, you'll still feel sad about what you lost, but you need to come to terms with it. One thing I learned about being in therapy (for depression) was that the pills are only there to ebb the feelings so you can sort through what the real problem is (whether you think there is one or not--I didn't). Maybe write in a journal about everything you're feeling. Give it time and soon, you will probably feel better.
