Anyone Heard About Taking Vitamins To Avoid Miscarriage

I have a friend who took vitamin E, B6 and B12 in addition to a pre natal vitamin. She had trouble conceiving so began a vitamin regimin. Her doctor recommended this. She now has 3 children and has not had any miscarriages. Said the vitamin E and the 2 B's were specifically for uterine health in order to avoid miscarriage. My doctor said a multi vitamin with an additional folic acid is enough. However, I just began taking the VE and the two B's after my m/c but do they really work? Anyone hear anything about this?

I haven't heard about those vitamins for uternine health, but it certainly couldn't hurt. There is a form of amemia that is from vitamin B deficency since it is used for red blood cell production. In the book "What To Eat When You're Expecting" they do list an E deficiency to poor pregnancy outcome. But you might want to make sure you don't take too vitamin E since it is fat soluable so it is possible for it to build up in your body. Good luck!

What do you mean it could build up in your body? Do you mean weight gain, or build up as a toxin?
