I had a natural m/c in June and my doctor said we start trying right away. Anyone else where I am?

Jill I had a miscarriage onJune 3. I waited until first af on July 18 then started ttc. I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago and it was positive. Im so scared, but excited. I wish you the best of luck ttc!

Hi Jill- I had a miscarrige at almost 12 weeks on June 30th--D&C. While the doctor recommended we wait 2 to 3 cycles, we've started to try again just this week after one af. It's scary...I have such mixed emotions about this but we're going for it. I'm probably going to need to wait another 10 days or so before I start testing to see if I'm pregnant--it'll be the longest 10 days ever! I'm also going to prepare myself for the possible disappointment of it coming back negative. We were so lucky the first time getting pregnant that my husband is confident that it'll happen that quickly this time as well. Unfortunately, I know that it sometimes doesn't happen that way! Good luck to you and let me know how it goes!

Hi Jill, Tara and Mrs. P: I had m/c on June 29, bled for two horrible weeks and ttc right away. However, I found my cycle very confusing right afterwards, and though we gave it a shot, did not conceive. Now I am back on track after one normal af and I started checking my fluid and charting my temps again. I am currently 6 dpo and probably need to wait another week at least before I can test (Mrs. P I know exactly what you mean - they will likely be the longest days of my life!) We were lucky the first time too - weren't exactly trying but got pregnant anyway and were so excited. Miscarriage is absolutely devastating isn't it? Mrs. P I am glad that you are trying again after your first cycle and I wish you the best of luck. I hope that we will have good news to report in a couple weeks!

I have had one normal AF and this past one was a little late. I had pg symptoms last week but AF showed up. We will try again this month. I hope it works. I am scheduled to out of town on O day but will be home a couple days before. I will just have to hope it will work. Congratulations Tara. I am so happy for you. Baby dust to the rest of us!

Jill - Darn! Sorry you got your AF. I wish you all the best this coming month. Remember - those little soldiers can live for up to 5 days in you, so ttc a few days before O gives you great odds. In fact, I've read that for most women, by the time they know they are ovulating, it is too late (depending on what method of checking you are using). So the days leading up to O are the most important. Good luck!

Jill/Kim- Let's make sure to keep in contact these next few weeks. I sure know that I need all the mental support I can get as I don't think my family and friends fully "get it" and how important this is--or how devastating another disappointment would be at this point. I've felt such strong support and binds with the people on this site. It's such a great thing. Good luck to you guys...and don't worry Jill---one day away won't hurt you! Congratulations Tara--please let us know how things are going with you!

Mrs. P - I would LOVE to have a couple of pals to track with. Lets do keep each other updated! It stinks that we are all in this boat together, but it helps to know each other is out there and going through the same process. Can I ask what the doctors said caused your miscarriage?

Jill - August 18

Mrs. P/Kim.....I agree....let's keep eachother posted. These postings are a great thing to have. Support from people who are experiencing the same things.

Hi Jill, I had a missed m/c june 13th at 14 weeks, total devestation for noth my partner and me. I waited for my 6 week check up and he said that i can start ttc right away, and we did. I had my period july11 and my cycles are usually 29-30 days so that would make me due to start on the 10 or 11th of august. I think that i didnt o until the 12th....i think thats a little odd. anyway its now the 18 and no AF. I had some cramps this am but still no AF. Keeping my fingers crossed. How soon should i test?? Good luck to everyone and lots of baby dust!!

Well, normally they don't test after the first miscarriage but I was so distraught by feelings of guilt (I worked too hard, I didn't eat right, I forgot to take my prenatal vitamin one day...ridiculous) that the doctor said they would test the tissue to put my mind at ease. The results said it was a chromonsonal abnormality (I didn't ask any further questions) and that it was a girl. I guess it makes me feel a little better in a way that I couldn't do anything to prevent the outcome.

Jill - August 18

I know that I have read that if the baby m/c's early (like mine 5 weeks) it is a genetic or chromosomal defect. This doesn't make it any easier for me but I have read that normal life doesn't generally lead to m/c. So Mr. P, don't be hard on yourself. It will happen for you.

Mrs. P - August 18

Jill---thanks. Intellectually, I know that I couldn't do anything to prevent it. It's the emotional part that is hard, as you are aware. I guess we all just have to try and relax!

Jill - August 18

That is always easier said than done....isn't it. :)

Hi Lynn- first of all, I'm so sorry for your loss. There are no words to comfort you, I know. As for your question, I would think, if it were me, that I would take a test today! No harm in it. However, what makes you think you didn't ovulate until last week? If in fact, it didn't happen until then, then there is probably a slim chance that you are pregnant. However, since it seems like you went right back on your normal cycle after your m/c then could it be that you miscalculated your o day? In any case, like I said, I would test today--but I'm a pretty impatient person! Please let me know....good luck!

Jill - August 19

Hi Lynn...I'm with Mrs. P. I am sure I test more than necessary when I think I am. It is just so exciting. Baby dust to you. Keep us informed!

Kim - August 19

Hi Lynn, Jill, Mrs. P: Let me offer that after my m/c I was convinced I ovulated exactly two weeks later, and I took a pregnancy test every day, sometimes more than one. Now THAT is obsessive behavior. :-) I finally promised my mom I'd stop doing that. I got my first af and am now approx 6 dpo. Hopefully this will be the month it happens for me, but I think I'm going to wait until I miss my period so I don't set myself up to be disappointed...but all in all, I am a HUGE fan of testing as often as you like, as long as it doesn't make you feel depressed to see negatives b/c of possibly testing too early!! ;-) I get my pregnancy tests CHEAP off of this website:http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/ (50 cents per test). GOOD LUCK!
