Bleeding Spotting At 9 Weeks And Declining Hcg Miscarriage

On July 9 I had my first visit with an obgyn and was told that I was 7 weeks 6 days pregnant. The ultrasound was fine and a heartbeat was detected. On July 17 at 8 weeks 5 days I began to experience bleeding (without cramping) and since I was travelling I went to a clinic in the city where I'm visiting. The doctor advised me that the cervix was closed and that they would measure my HCG levels over a period of time. The bleeding wasn't as heavy as regular periods but it lasted 4 days. After a series of tests here are the HCG levels July 25 - 144, 261 July 27 - 141, 413 August 5 - 86, 537 I haven't had any bleeding or cramping since. Has anyone else been through this? Have I most likely miscarried? This has been agonizing not knowing whether I am still pregnant or not. Finally, they scheduled me for an ultrasound but I have to wait a few days. The waiting is difficult emotionally. Any opinions would be appreciated. - M

I hate to say it but my first reaction is that it could be a threatened abortion...miscarriage. (I hate that first name...why do they call it that?) Was the bleeding ever HEAVY? Was it ever dark or bright red? My miscarriage also didn't have any cramping, but my levels were dropping when I was bleeding, and after the bleeding was over, I had another blood test, and the numbers were So much lower. It was obvious that I was having a m/c. Then after a week, I did a pregnancy test to see if I still had a bunch of the hormone or not, and it was negative. I hope you can get seen soon. The waiting IS difficult. Once I could put all HOPE for the baby aside, knowing it was over, I was able to move on and think about healing and being ready for the next pregnancy. I wish you the best. Good Luck.
