Dear khadjia, the same thing happened to me 12 days ago!! I had bleeding all through the pregnancy and at an ultrasound we found out that I only had half of my waters left. Apparently the placenta can remake the lost fluid or the doctors can inject some artificial amniotic fluid. I was hospitalised but went into labour that night and my son was born alive, dying in my arms. apparently bleeding can erode the amniotic sac as can smoking, uterine infections and general low dose infections. My son was also 19 weeks and I feel so empty and scared to try again. I have had the placenta and my son tested as well as so many blood tests to see if I have any clotting or auto immune problems. I have two daughters from a previous relationship which were fine all the way through. No answers yet but I can only sympathise with your pain and fear, I'm feeling it too. Please get some tests done as this is apparently very rare and only affects 2% of pregnancies. Keep in touch if you need a friend who is in the same predicament.
