On July 7, I had a D&C after finding out I have a blighted ovum at 5 weeks. It was a whirlwind week of finding out I was pg to finding out I had a blighted ovum to my dr telling me my insurance may not cover it and waiting for my insurance to approve it. To top it off, my insurance company wanted to make sure it wasn't an emergency: rape or incest? What a slap in the face that was. Anyway, insurance company approved it and had by d&c on the 7th. NOT a pleasant experience even with it lasting for 3 minutes and local anesthesia. Longest 3 minutes of my life. I was given a 10-day supple of antibiotics plus a blood clotter. Bleeding stopped after the first day, but have occasional spotting which is to be expected and my follow up appointment is on July 24th. How long should I wait after my follow up to start ttc? I'm 36 and am ready to start again. When should I expect my first period to start?

Hi:So sorry to hear about your loss.I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in Jan 06.My doctor had asked me to wait for a couple of cycles u will find here that many women start trying almost immediately. My doctor said that wait for a couple of cycles for the uterus lining to build up so that it can support the new pregnancy.I am pregnant again and I followed my doctor's advic I feel that if u have faith and trust in ur doctor strictly follow her/his advice also u could elect to take a second opinion.Period should be expected in 4-6 weeks I got mine in 5 weeks after m/c
