HcG Level Lowers

On Thursday I received the news I was pregnant and my level was 184! Yeah. Friday late afternoon I felt crampy then started to spot. Decided to be on the safe side went to the hospital. The did a blood test it came back 152 and the doc said i was probably miscarrying. Sad. So, Monday I see my ob/gyn because I'm on fertility (clomid) and explain it all to him and he says that their can be a 10%-15% variable in the levels ecspecially taken so close together and wants me to go for another blood test on Wednesday to get a more acurate number! So, now I got my hopes up again but eveyone I've talked to said they've never seen a number lower and then raise again? Has anyone every experienced this?

No, unfortunately I've never heard of that. With my m/c my levels started low and decreased from there. My doctor simply said that since the levels had decreased, they simply would not rise again. So sorry to hear about this, I hope that all will work out for you. Best wishes.

Actually this did happen to me. I was in the hospital 2 days in a row and they took blood both times. I dont know what the numbers were cuz they never told me but i do know that they did go down the second day. Now your HCG is supposed to double every 2 days so they did tell me i was having a miscarriage. Well i stayed up and cried the entire night i was so upset (I was 14 weeks pregnant). The next morning i went in for an ultrasound and my baby was perfect, strong HB of 160, everything. Turns out the reason i was bleeding was due to a bladder infection so i got put on anti biotics and i haven't bled since. I'm now 29 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby boy! Good luck everything will work out!
