HCG Level Question

Hi ladies, i have been reading some of the posts here and I am wondering how you know your HCG levels post m/c. I had a D&C 2 + weeks ago. I am still testing positive on pregnancy tests. Does my doctor need to order blood work to check the falling HCG? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks...

yeah, in order to get an exact number you'll want to get a blood draw from your doc. I had an interesting circ_mstance where my HCG levels took almost two months to drop to zero. This is not the usual time frame so don't worry. Yours really should drop here soon but if you keep testing positive you'll want to let your doc know and get a start getting blood draws to ensure they are dropping. Hope that helps and good luck.

alice, my dr. checked mine every week until mine was less than 5.

Thank you guys! my doctor isn't really on the ball with any of this so I might have to suggest... and I'm sorry you are having a bad Monday jstaley (I read the other post).

Thanks, alice. That the breaks of baby-making, I guess. Lots of ups and downs...well mostly downs at this point but we'll all get the ups someday! Talk to you doc about setting you up to monitor your levels decreasing. Thanks again, Alice. Take care! Oh, and don't be afraid to try different docs if you aren't happy with yours. I switched after my D&C and it was the best thing ever. My new one is very thorough and I really needed that after the miscarriage. Give me peace of mind. Have a good night!
