How Does It Start

I feel horrible asking this question of you ladies, but how does a miscarriage typically start? I had a little spotting after having s_x at 4 weeks, got things checked out, and my cervix was just irritated. I'm now 6 weeks and started a couple hours ago with tanish discharge which has now turned into a rusty redish brown. I'm not having any painful cramping, just the mild occasional twinges I've been having. I don't know if I should be worrying right now or not.

It could be implantation bleeding. I had that from week 4-6 and it turned out ok. Had other complications in my pregnancy but the spotting early on was ok for me. Have your OB check it just to be safe. GL!

I don't have an appointment until I'm 9 weeks. I did call a few hours ago and haven't heard anything back from them yet. I'm pretty sure my eggs already fully implanted (atleast I hope anyway)

Are you cramping at all?

I don't know........my legs ache I don't know if that means anything. As far as my stomach goes I've been having twinges that feel like my uterus stretching and I've also been constipated so I don't know if I have cramps from that too. Either way, it isn't constant cramping.

To answer your question ---When I had my m/c it started with some light brown spotting on and off. Then my symptoms started to fade, though I only noticed that in retrospect. I had some minor cramps here and there, nothing all too painful or worrisome, and a__sumed all was well. The day the m/c actually started, like when the baby and everything began to pa__s, I had started spotting red, and the cramps got a bit more intense, but still nothing major, though enough to worry me into going into the ER. While I was sitting in the ER, my symptoms all just about vanished completely, it was crazy. I was still fatigued for awhile afterwards, but all the big ones were just gone, BBS felt normal, no nausea, etc. When they did an u/s and b/w and both confirmed I was looking to be 3 weeks behind what I knew was the absolute earliest, I knew it was over. Later that night, the bleeding got heavier, and clots started to pa__s, along with the sac. ----- Now, that being said, spotting can be completely normal for a lot of people, and isn't automatically a sentence of doom and gloom. Its worth a mention to your doctor, or a trip to the ER if it gets worse or worries you too much, but the best thing is to just try not to worry right now. I know easier said than done. --- Legs aching is a common pregnancy symptom. Feeling the twinges are also a good sign. You could also be having gas pains which just kind of come and go. All of that is completely normal. --- In a M/C, when the cramping starts, it is like feeling contractions from labor, just maybe not as intense, but they are very strong, stronger than AF cramps, and come at regularly spaced intervals. They were enough to make me double over moaning each time I felt them, and needed pain meds to get thru them, and I have a very strong pain threshold. You'd know them if you felt them, its a terrible sort of pain. ----There is a good chance that everything is just fine. Every pregnancy & every persons experience of it is different. Just because something means one thing for one person does not mean the same for another person. Keep your spirits up and hold on to faith that everything will be okay. I will keep you and your little peanut in my thoughts & prayers. GL & KUP *sticky babydust*

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It really does help. I did call the doctor last night and she wanted me to take off work today and come in for an ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy was live and that everything was where it was supposed to be. I called at 930 and left a message with the nurse and when she called back she said she ran things by the doctor again and I don't need to come in. They get like 2-3 calls a day like that and it's nothing to worry about unless it turns red and I could go back to work. I'm so frusterated because I hate calling off and I really had my heart set on knowing how things were in there one way or the other. It has gone back to a tanish/beige colored discharge so I hope that means it's going away and doesn't come back.
