Hi i had a m/c and d/c on 1st april , my ob/gyn recommended waiting until the bleeding stopped before resuming any s_xual activity as he said the cervix had to fully close up. How long does that take? The bleeding stopped after 7 days.Last night my bf & i had s_x for the first time after m/c and i had some light bleeding . Do you think this is harmful? Obviously we took it pretty easy... please help!

My dr said "give it a couple weeks" I was sore from my m/c internally and my husband is large so it hurt after even the 2 weeks. I did spot a little after the first time we had s_x as well. I have a feeling that it's normal though.

Hi Christa, I had a m/c on 23rd March, and my dh and I had s_x 8 days later when all bleeding stopped. According to my doctor, and I think most medical people, you can resume s_xual activity when you feel physically and emotionally ready, there's no set time limit, although there may be a slight chance of infection in the early days post m/c. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys! I do still feel quite tender inside too but thought it might just be emotional rather than physical, i talked this over with my bf today and he said he felt quite tentative too so i guess talking it through and doing what feels right is the best option.

I tried after two weeks and it was too painful, so a couple of days later I tried on top instead and no pain at all - it helped to me in control of how deep the penetration was, etc...definitely worth trying.

I bled for 2 wks after my m/c on 3/22, then bd with my dh, and spotted for a few days afterwards. I think it's pretty normal, just more loose tissue coming out.
