I had a D&C 2 weeks agaon (10/04) not due to MC but for irregularities etc.. and polyps. I saw my Dr. yesterday for follow up, he said everything went fine and I could go back to ttc right away, but he also said it would be about 3 weeks before I got my period again.. he was wrong, had intercourse last night for first time since D&C and woke up to my period this morning.. anybody else get theirs that soon after one?

It really varies depending on the woman. I think I got my AF approximately 35 days after my D&C. It was just a bunch of spotting. No flow. In fact I have not had to wear a pad or tampon since May.

I don't know if I can be of much help since I just had my D & C on the 11th. Mine was because my son's heart stopped somewhere around 17-18 wks. From everything I've read and also my dr they say about 4 to 6 weeks before you get a period. I have also read that after intercouse the first couple of times you can have bleeding. I hope this is your period and you are getting back on track. Good luck to you!

Thanks, me too. It just seemed weird that it started so soon after just yesterday he said 3-4 weeks.. but hopefully I'm just getting the early start. LOL. BTW.. I did't introduce myself, I am new to the board.. my name is Tanya, I am 35 Have 3 Teens, my Significant other has 1 teen also, but we want one more together.. we have been ttc to for last 10 months, and are hoping that with the D&C and the polyps removed that now something good will happen. And I wish all of you the best of luck TTC as well!

I'm new to these boards also. I was looking for someone to talk to my husband is great, but he doesn't completely understand. My name is Tera (32) and I too have 3 children. We've been trying since January and it looks like we are back to trying. Not that were complaining. lol. Trying can be half of the fun. I just don't want to have to go through this again, but if it gets me to the end result a healthy baby then so be.

Hi Tera, nice to meet you. I've been chekcing these forums out myself for the same reason My SO is great.. but I dont think men get just how hard it can be on the women emotionally because it's OUR bodies that are supposed to work right lol. How old are your kids?.. My youngest (the only girl) will be 14 in 1 1/2 weeks, then my second son is 15, my stepson (My SO's boy) is 16, and my oldest son will be 19 in Jan.. (and yes.. I know some people think we are crazy to start over again as old as are kids are LOL) But not everyone knows we are trying, our closest group of friends know, and other than that nobody in the family except my SIL knows. We decided it would be less stressfull for he and I if we didn't have to deal with the well meaning ones constantly asking " has it happened yet?" and without the ones that will be saying "you two are crazy, dont you realize you should start enjoying you lives without little ones all over again?"

Nope, my first post-D&C period was 35 days later.

Tanya~ I think it is great that you want to start over. We have a couple of family friends that did the same one ended up with twin boys and the other a son. They call them the caboose. My friends are very supportive and understand why we want to try again. Unfortunatelly my parents are deceased and my dh's family isn't all thaty supportive. My kids and friends are all I have. My oldest daughter is 7 my son turned 5 the day of my miscarriage last week and my youngest girl was 4 last Sunday. How are you feeling since your d & c? I am starting to feel "normal." I go for my follow up in 1 1/2 weeks.

Tera, I feel fine physically.. The D&C left me feeling kinda.. Blah for about a week, but I do feel physically fine now.. with exception of concern of AF showing up so soon after when everything I have heard says the norm is 3-4 weeks after. (I have to wait and get in touch with Dr. Monday his office was already closed when it hit me yesterday)

Tanya, I am sure everything will be fine. I am feeling very good. I am done with all of the antibiotic, and things seem to be good. I took a hpt yesterday to see if it was still reading positive. Thankfully it was negative. I never thought I would be so happy to see negative, but from what I've heard I should o once my levels fall. Did you dr recommend waiting a cycle before ttc. Mine did, but mine was a different situation.

tanyaleigh - October 20

No Tera, my Dr. did not reccomend waiting any, he said I was good to go back to ttc. and yes, yours may be diff. because of diff. situations. I know when I M/C between my first two kids I had to wait a cycle after MC to try again. And now my AF has stopped.. only lasted about 24 hours.. maybe it was from first intercourse after D&C I dunno.. gotta wait and see what Dr says Monday. And I totally understand what you were saying about being happy to get a neg. hpt. LOL.. here's to hoping we both get pg by Christmas =)

Tanya, I hope you are able to get the answers you need from your dr. Please let me know how you make out. I'm all for a Christmas surprise.
