Long story short, was pregnant, started spotting, went to ER, u/s said no heartbeat, thought i was 15 weeks but baby died at 8, now doc says wait a week to see if it passes. I am having cramps and starting to bleed, is that how it starts? i want it to pass naturally, i don't want to have to have surgery, how long does this usually take? Thank you so much.

Hi Katie, I had an empty sac in Jan. My dr. told me that I would soon feel cramping that would be pretty painful and have bleeding- and that would be the miscarriage starting to pa__s. Unfortunately, I never did and had to have a d & c. My dr. said that it is always better to let this kind of thing happen naturally. I hope this helps. Good luck.

***Warning - a bit of graphic detail** Katie, I had a m/c in May ( ~9weeks), and it started with mild cramps and spotting. The spotting turned to bleeding, and I pa__sed several clots of tissue. It felt like I had to go pee and I couldn't hold it in. The mild cramping got worse, but still bearable. I finally pa__sed a large clot (probably the baby the dr said). The cramping became more severe, and they gave me a shot of morphine for the pain, and then I pa__sed a medium sized clot. The Dr then went in to see if there was any tissue left, and he removed the last of the tissue. That hurt incredibly bad, even with the morphine. After the Dr removed the tissue, the cramps stopped, and the bleeding slowed. Everything took place between noon and 8 pm. I was grateful that I was able to pa__s everything naturally. It somehow made the m/c easier to bear. I hope this helps you. God Bless.
