Insensitive Boss

Has anyone else had a boss tell them they were unprofessional because they had become a bit withdrawn around certain people (pregnant co-workers)? I had to justify my feelings and emotions to my boss and was almost in tears in her office. I think she just wants me to get over it. She also told me she is pregnant which has made me even more resentful. Any thoughts?

Did you recently have a m/c?

Sorry, I should have put that in there. I miscarried on April 3rd at five weeks.

I think that others that are pregnant are not so concerned that you are hurting when faced with pregnant people around you, they just don't want the topic of miscarriage on their minds and your pain probably worries them. I had a m/c at the end of march and my best friend is 3 weeks ahead of where I would have been. I love her, but sometimes I do not want to hear about her ob appts or the fact that the baby is moving. I hate that I think that way, she is my best friend, but sometimes it takes a while to mourn. As far as your boss goes, if she doesn't understand the pain you are going through and you have explained that to her... I don't know what to say. Until you have experienced this kind of loss, you can't imagine the pain. I am sorry that you are surrounded by that while you are grieving, believe me, I understand.
