Is This Another Miscarriage

I have just been for an early scan as i am losing brown discharge everytime i wipe myself,it is not heavy, but i feel slight pains too. This will be my 3rd m/c in a row,if my instincts are correct. The nurse dated me at 5wks,but my dates are 6wk4d and im confident of this. She could only see the sac but no yolk or baby. She wants me to go back next week for another scan,as she can't condemn it yet.IS there any hope for us,we already have 2 boys, but they are both terminally ill with sanfillipo syndrome,a genetic illness which affects 1 in 4 pregnancies.

Sheryl-I am so sorry to hear of your boys' illness. I am sure this is so hard to deal with, my prayers are with you and your family. I just recently had a m/c on 3/27 and D&C on 3/27. I also went in at 5 w to have a scan done and they only saw the sac, no baby...I went the following week and we saw the heartbeat. I also had brown spotting starting at week 5 and continued throughout my m/c. It was there when I would wipe, nothing more, although I had cramping get severe on 3/27 and sharp pains followed by blood clots when Iwent to the bathroom. My doc said that if you can see a heartbeat it decreases your chance of m/c by half, I wish you all the best at your next visit. Have they done any tests to determine why you m/c? Thinking of you...

I'm so sorry Sheryl, it sounds familiar to when I had my 2nd miscarriage which was a blighted ovum. I had brownish discharge and pain and there was no yolk or baby on the scan only a sac. I had my blood taken have they done yours to check hormone levels? I had a laparaoscopy to check my tubes to rule out eptopic which it wasn't, then a week later another scan just to make sure and still there was an ampty sac ( I was 8 wekks by this point) they checked blood again and barely any change in over a week so it was definately a failed pregnancy and I miscarried. you are still quite early so there is hope that things are just too early on to see, but if you want an honest answer I feel disheartened reading your symptoms and scan result - I'm so sorry. I have had 2 miscarriages as well and I am hoping and praying that this will not be another one for you and that your fears will not be realised. I am so sorry to hear of your boys being so ill I really am. Please post again soon to say how you are doing. Take care xxx
