Hi all, I have miscarried in Feb (blighted ovum) at 7 weeks. Got pg after waiting one month and found out my baby has no heartbeat. I am waiting to miscarry. I know so many of you have been here. I am usually so positive and strong, but i feel so lost. I am 39 years old and have a DD - 20 months. My doctor suggested tests, I am worried about how long these tests may take, I don't want to lose months waiting. I guess for me the best way is to get pg again soon. does anyone know how many tests they do, what they are, how long they take and if they actually help diagnose or will it be an "abnormal chromosome" diagnosis at the end of the day. Does anyone know of someone having a successful pg after 2 mc in a row?? thanks for listening...Gayle.

Hi Gayle, Very sorry to read of your loss. I've had 3 m/c's and have had some testing. To date, all my tests have come back normal. I miscarried at around 7 weeks each time and the babies were not tested. I believe bloodwork can be done at any time once you've miscarried or maybe even now. I'm not sure. Your doctor will know what to order. I've also had a sonohysterogram where they check inside the uterus for polyps or tumors. That has to be done once you get a cycle after the m/c. Try looking on the thread about tests after m/c. Good luck to you.

Hi GL, I'm sorry for all that you are going through. I have had 3 mc's and 2 back to back. I am in the process of all the testing. My doctor had me start my testing on the 2nd cycle after my mc. All of the testing takes a month. They are all done at certain times during your cycle. Next week I will finish my last 2 tests and then we will find out what our results are. Most of them are blood work and to be honest I couldn't tell you what they are. I know some are hormone levels. I had an ultrasound done while they put saline in my uterus, and they did find a polyp. My dh will have his sperm tested to see if they are healthy and my last 2 tests are a progesterone test and a biopsy of my uterus lining just before af to see if the lining can support a pregnancy. It's a lot of work but I feel it's worth it rather than risking another pregnancy. I wish you lots of luck.
