Hi, i am approx. 6 weeks pregnant and haven't seen the doc yet (my appt. is for the 20th). Almost exactly a year ago i got pregnant with my 2nd pregnancy and lost the baby at 12 weeks. the er doctors said the baby had stopped developing at 8 weeks. Genetic testing after the D&C determined that the baby had Turner's Syndrome.

Now I find myself pregnant again and so worried about this baby. I did not get genetic counseling after the loss of our baby b/c my doctor said she was pretty sure it was a total fluke and the chances of it happening again were minimal.

Does anyone know the chances of having another TS baby (of course this baby would have to be a girl for that to happen). Our 1st pregnancy was awesome and uneventful -- perfect! We had a little boy who is now 2.5....I'm just so worried about losing this baby.....

thanks

I'm sorry for your loss, and I wish you a happy and healthy pregnancy wit this child. My baby died of a cystic hygroma at 12 weeks (usually a sign of Turners) but did not have the syndrome. Your doctor is right that your risk of having another baby with Turner's is unlikely, so take a deep breath and have hope. Without genetic counseling there is no way to determine 100% the chance, but i'd say most likely you have every reason to believe this pregnancy will be healthy. Good luck.

FIrst of all, I am so sorry for your loss. I still remember losing our baby girl like it was yesterday...I just have to trust in the Lord that He knows what is best for me and will take care of my every need. And Thank you so much. I am trying to stay positive. I'm just such a worryier by nature...it's difficult. :)
