Misscarriage Concerns

I had s_x early in may, and i was expected to have my period 2weeks after, and i did, but it was short and it went from a brown period to pink and then nothing but i was still bloated. Then i got over it however, i have a stomach ache when i wake up every morning and im thinking its morning sickness. However, I have had recently had a actual period longer this time and it was heavy like a normal period. Does any of that sound like it was a misscarriage or am I pregnant- no doubt? thanks for your help -Jo

have you done a home test? I would test that if you haven't yet- they're pretty accurate. You can have implantation bleeding after you conceive (usually around 10 days after) I have had that twice. As for the second "period", if it's really heavy then that is probably not compatible with pregnancy, but you probably should see your doctor if you're really not sure. I would do a home test first just to see what you get. Good Luck!

Thanks lisa. I have taken 4 tests because im paranoid, and i wasnt sure when i should have been testing however, i did them all at the beginning of the day. All of which where negative. So im stressing about the stomach pains that havent gone away. But thats for answering

"pains" is not morning sickness. Maybe you have an ovarian cyst. Does it feel like pressure? I don't know your history- maybe you want to see your doctor anyway. Scheduled for any check ups for any reason? Maybe bump it up sooner if you are.....

Jo, I would say that if you had a light period at the time you expected your period, then had negative HPTs and then another period that was heavier I would say odds you are pregnant are slim and none. I don't know how much time elapsed between the first light period and the second heavier period, but either way, you are most likely not pregnant. If only a week or so elapsed it COULD have been a VERY early m/c, but with the negative hpt, I would say that isn't very likely. Even a chemical pregnancy, which is the earliest possible m/c, is usually detected by an hpt. Plus, stomach aches are not usually related to pregnancy - at least not at this stage of the game...if it's gone on - then see your doc for your stomach issues.

thanks so much for the response. I just hope im understanding your answer you say the time from the first spotting period to the really heavy period it was when i was expected to have my period in general. So its should be nothing to worry about. And these stomach aches are tied in with feeling nausea whenever i wake up in the morning. But i eat everything, its not like something really upsets my stomach, and i dont throw it up

So give me the time frame. You started spotting and then how much time elapsed before the heavier period? And, when did you do the HPTs in relation to the spotting/bleeding?

well, if i try and clock it exactly, i spotted on the 14th of may or day 23 on my cycle. when my period would have started lasting till day 24 . Then i got my period the second time on day 25 or the 14th of june. and i still have it now. hope that gives you a better time frame. to work with

I don't know when you took your tests in there, but it sounds like you just had a light period for some reason in May and then a regular one in June. Considering you were a month apart - exactly - and you HPTs came out negative it doesn't look to me like you were pregnant. Usually, even with an early miscarriage, your cycle can get thrown off by a few days or a few weeks. Anyway, if you keep having stomach problems - then see your doc about that. Good luck.

I had taken one test, a week after my period started in the afternoon(tuesday), and after reading that its best to do first thing in the morning, i took the second one the next morning(wednesday). Then I wasnt sure if i did it correctly so i took another test the following wednesday. Then another wednesday pa__sed and I took it on the thursday before my expected period was to come on the monday but because i take pills it always is different but i know i get it. So i hope that helps you

My...well...it's confusing to be honest, but it sounds like nearly 4 weeks pa__sed between period #1 and period #2...so I am sticking with the "I don't think you are/were pregnant" story. If you have any other questions, then see your doctor as they should be able to tell you for sure.
