MTHFR Question

I just read the MTHFR post started by Erin. This has been the most informative information I have found on the web - all of you are so knowledgeable and I am SO SORRY for your losses. I had two m/c last year, but I also have a dd who is 4. After my 2nd mc, my dr did some tests. He told me I had one mutation of MTHFR which he said is very common and no big deal - I guess I am called Heterozygous. I have known I had MTHFR since October, but was never concerned because the doctor told me this was not an issue. Today, my dh got his results that he also has one mutation, so now my dd has a 25% chance of having 2 mutations. (We are waiting for the peditrician to call us). My question.....do you think that I could have the 2 m/c due to this mutation, or is it not relevant? And, I am also 13 weeks pregnant - could this be harmful? My doctor assures me that this is no big deal, but I cannot help but think I should research this or get a 2nd opinion. I feel like he is not taking this matter seriously, but I could be over-reacting. He does not have me on baby aspirin or Vitamin B, just plain prenatals. What do you think? I have never heard of this before, and I am so confused what to think. If I lose a third baby, we are not going to try again - it is too painful.

Hi BeccaC, did your doctor tell you if you are heterozygous for A1298 (sorry I don't have my labs in front of me to remember this one as I don't have it) or C677T (I have this one). Then maybe find out specifically which one your husband is positive for. Because I am such a worrywart with this thing, I would get a second opinion, but this is also a fairly new thing and my regular primary care doctor didn't even know what it was when I told her I had it!!! Not very rea__suring...let me know what you find out! Good luck and I'm sure everything will be fine!!!
