My Story

MISTY - June 24

I have three healthy kids. My 2nd I had low amniotic fluid for unknown reasons. I also had high blood pressure with the 2nd & 3rd. I had normal deliveries and they're perfect. I had my first m/c 2/04. I thought I would never quit crying. My husband took it hard too and broke down and cried. I did everything the same as I did with my other pregnancies. Why me? I became pg again 9/04. I would not let myself even consider the possibility of a m/c. I began spotting 12/04. I went in for my 1st dr. appointment and was told that I had a Blighted Ovum. I drove myself home sobbing the whole way then laughing hysterically asking out loud 'how could this happen again, what did I do to deserve this pain, why me, this cannot be happening, this is crazy'. I got home somehow and called my husband and told him. Needless to say, he didn't get much done for the rest of the day. Every two weeks for two months I had my hormone levels checked to see if they were going down. 2/05 I had a D&C because my levels never went down to '0'. Why it took so long for them to order the D&C, I don't know. It ticked me off. When it was ordered the doctor who would perform the D&C called me at 9 the night before and discussed a lot of things with me for the next hour. That was 2/05. I had AF about 28 days later in March. I haven't had AF since! I'm now in my fourth month and looking foward to yet another ultrasound which shows my tiny little peanut doing somersaults and kicking around, we could see it's fingers on one hand and it's arms and legs and beautiful little face and heartbeat. I've felt bubbles and a kick or two I think. The overwhelming urge to 'check' when I go to the bathroom is still there. It annoys my hubby. I can't help it. And I'm constantly feeling & rubbing my baby bump. I just wanted to let you ladies know that you can go on to have a kicking little peanut like me after the horrific experiences of m/c. I wish you all the best of luck! And all the happiness in the world!!

I had the high blood pressure the last two months I believe. So far it's been within normal range with this one. I was never given tablets or anything. But I was induced both times. I guess they were afraid it would get too high the closer I was to my due date. My second was born eighteen days early (I had the low fluid with him) and my third was born only six days early. I wonder why it shoots up at the end of pregnancy? Thanks, Elyse, for your response and question!!
