One More Question

Hi! I also have another question. When I went to my follow up appt. after my D & C my doctor said I had a chance of having a partial molar pregnancy. I was devastated. Then by the time I got home, my dr. called and said that the chromosome report had come back in and my baby boy was a 46xy + 7. She said that this report did not sound like a partial molar. I have been reading that usually with a partial molar the baby gets a whole extra set of chromosomes not just one like mine did. Does anybody know? It has been over a week and the pathologist still hasn't sent the results. This has been the longest week of my life. The dr. said if it is molar then she would let me try again in 6 months which sounds like an eternity to me. (especially because I am 35)

I don't think that sounds like a partial molar either. But I hope it wasn't a molar either. One of my close friend's sister had one, and she ended up having to have chemotherapy and waiting a year to ttc again. Yuck. Pathologists are always backed up, especially when it's your sample! You could ask your doctor if she can call for a preliminary report; one might be available. Hang in there!

Hi Susan. My dr. said if it was anything it was probably a partial because there was a fetal pole. The dr. called the pathologist and put a rush on it and last Monday they told me 3 to 5 days. That was 9 days ago. I will give it a couple of more days and then call again. Did your friends' sister have a baby after that? It's funny how things become relative. Now I would be excited if I found out it was just a simple miscarriage. The waiting is hard.
