Period Confusion After Mc

I had a miscarrage on new years day 07 and i bled for three weeks. I miscarried at 8weeks 3 days. As we are trying to concieve we do not use protection, we know that were supposed to wait before trying to concieve again for a few months but we've had unprotected s_x a few times since. My period is now 11 days late. I was wondering if the fact that i miscarried could have altered my periods. Do i assume that my periods will be on the same date they were before i was pregnant? as i have done so. Although i have no period i did have pink stained discharge once yesterday. I haven't taken a pregnancy test because i'm not sure when my period is supposed to be here. Can someone help me in my confusion please?

Hi Shadow. I'm sorry about your mc. They're quite rotten aren't they! Not an experience I want to repeat, ever. No, your periods can be very messed up after mc from all I've read. I'm still waiting for mine as well, although it isn't nearly due as my mc was just 2 weeks ago. I've read a lot of other posts since, and a zillion other resources; it seems that our period could be anywhere from a few to 6 or more weeks from mc. There just does not seem to be a "normal" time; every woman is different, and there isn't a way to predict it that I've found. I'm charting bbt, but no spike yet. The temp spike would at least indicate it will come in 2 weeks, but lots of people say we won't ovulate until after we get a period, which really makes no sense to me (love explanations there ladies!) I'm also checking for LH spike, but started that too late and could have missed it, although based on CM and bbtI don't think so. Heck, I've even checked ferning... No, don't a__sume that your periods will be the same - the first one will most likely not be on time, and even after the first af our schedule can be different, as though all the hormonal changes re -set our body schedule. Do you know if you ovulated? Some people can feel that, but I'm not one of them. I'll buy the LH tests for a few months (unless I get pg again which I really want) now so I can better figure out if any given twinge is gas or ovulation or I bent wrong lol. As for the pink, I'm not sure. If you know when you ovulated, you could tell if that was implantation bleeding, but I never had that. If you feel like a period is coming, combined with the pink, I'd wait a few days to test in case it comes; saves you the cash. If not, I guess it's up to you if you test or not. I think I would, just because I couldn't stand not knowing. Did your doc tell you how long it could take, or when to call by if you didn't get it? You might be able to call them and get some answers on the phone if you ask if you need to be seen and explain the situation. If they think you don't need an appointment, they sort of have to tell you why don't they?, and how long you can go without one before they want you back in... Good Luck.

My doctor hasn't been very useful at all throughout all of this. I live in England and we have a rather poor health service over here. When i suspected a mc i went straight in but couldn't get an appointment until two days later and even then that was on a cancelation. He asked me if i was bleeding which i was, he did a us and said i was carrying very small w/ no heartbeat and sent me home. I had questions to ask but he told me he didn't have time and if i wanted questions answered i should book another appt. I did try to book another one but there is a three week waiting list and i figured it's just not worth it. He hasn't even asked me to come and see him since, which i'd have thought he would. It's puzzling. I feel quite let down really, i pay taxes for good treatment and i have to say i haven't experienced that. He hasn't been at all supportive while we've been ttc either. We were trying for 9 months before i fell pregnant. This is one of the reasons why i'm not urgently taking a test. While ttc my periods, as regular as they were before, became rather irratic. Late all the time and once i didn't get it at all. So as you can see its been a rollercoaster. The discharge is back again but now a brown colour, like old blood. This is what i normally get at the end of a period. I've never really had 'feelings' when i've started to come on, just blood. I'm wondering whether to cla__s this pink/brown thing as a period though it's been nothing like one, so that i can start charting again and work out when i'm ovulating..Unfortunately i'm not one of these women who can feel it though it'd be a lot less work if i were!! Thankyou for your help!!
