Pregnancy After Methotrexate

I miscarried in August and was wondering if anyone has gone on to have a healthy pregnancy after methotrexate. The doctors felt it was a tubal pregnancy. I am still getting my HCG monitored every week. It is almost back at 0. Please answer. I am nervous to try again.I do however have to wait 2 to 3 cycles before I can try again. I need some encouragement after dealing with the loss of my last pregnancy. Anyone have any answers?

JMK I am very sorry for your loss-I have a couple of questions: Were you taking the Methotrxate for an illness (such as cancer)? Were you taking it prior to conception or after? I have read it can cause miscarriage & problems with getting pregnant. Also if the doctors felt it was a tubal pregnancy did they perform an operation to check your tubes to make sure it wasn't? An ectopic pregnancy needs to be removed as it won't pa__s on it's own. I am presuming as your levels are almost back at 0 that it was not a tubal pregnancy? I am just so sorry for what you have been through. How far on in pregnancy were you? What else are the doctors saying? Again I am so sorry xxx

I'm sorry sweetie I just had another look online about methotrexate and found it is used to treat ectopic pregnancy-I presume this is why you were given it. I appologise for my ignorance! I should have read more in depth before replying! I think the risks are more the longer you take it for and you would only have taken it a short time so hopefully the risks won't be as much in your situation as they probably only gave you a small dose? Again I am sorry for replying before finding out enough about the drug-I am so sorry for your loss and I really do pray that when you start TTC in a few months time you will have a healthy pregnancy and I wish you every blessing-Take care xxx

That's ok JMK I feel embarra__sed that I posted before I knew enough about it though! From what I have read it is important to wait those 3 months before TTC again to make sure it is out of your system. I really do pray you have a lovely healthy pregnancy the next time. Take care and be extra kind to yourself you have been through alot-you deserve lots of TLC-Take care xxx
