Starting Lactating After M C

I had a s/b on March 2, Lou at 22 weeks. I had lactated about 4 days later for about 1 week and then it seemed to have stopped. On June 12th I got another positive, only to lose again about the end of June. Now I started lactating. My br___ts have been tender ever since. Is this possible from such an early pregnancy?

I have had the same problem. I have had slight nipple discharge after my d&c. I had a blighted ovum with a sac measuring about 7 weeks, no baby, and supposed to be 9-10 weeks. I have been very concerned about this. My dr is not concerened yet, but says if it continues we will investigate more. Some women just produce enough hormones to do this. I am still very worried. The discharge does not come out on its own (I discovered it during my monthly b___st exam.). It is clear and does not come out every time I check. I did go for a prolactin blood test today. We will go from here.

Hi paulette, I produced milk 3 days after my D&C. I was 12 weeks pregnant when the baby died. I have heard of other women producing milk after miscarriage so its normal. Producing milk for me was just a huge reminder of what I lost. Im so sorry about your losses and I wish you the best.

Cabbie, mine took about 3 weeks before I didn't notice it when I showered. (hot water of the shower made my b___sts leak) I had to wear a tight bra and make sure not to touch them to allow them to dry up. Its only been a month since your D&C so it might just be hormones. My sister and law had the same thing after her miscarriage and it lasted quite a while. I wouldent get too worried.

Thanks to both of you for replying. It's nice to hear I'm not alone. I actually called my dr's office today and they told me not to be concerned as I had a s/b and the more recent hormones may have kicked this back in motion. I have an appt with dr in about a week and will follow up with him then. Thanks again, all the best to you both.
