Welcome to all those ladies whose miracles have entered this world, those that are still slowly cooking to perfection and for those ladies who are waiting to be blessed either again or for the first time.

Hello my gorgeous girls! Who asked about caffeine? For me I have never had any issues with it in any of my pregnancies - I have drank coke, coffee, pepsi, tea etc and usually is vast amounts and never had a problems from it or LBW Babies - Matthew doesn't count as he was early and due to complications which had nothing to do with the food or drinks I was consuming. Each to their own though. Robyn, I am the same. Some of the things Bob used to do as a child I simply don't understand as I come from quite a big family and he has only ever had his mum, dad and brother due to problems somewhere in family history. He nearlly freaked out the forst Christmas when he saw what we get up to and how many of us there is! LOL!

Thanks for starting the new thread Tory! Did I read somewhere that you have an infection??? AMANDA I saw the clip on GMA about the caffeine and I thought the same thing. I have heard it is ok to have it in moderation. I did stop drinking coffee only cause I did not want it. I still drink 1 diet Dr Pepper a day and if I want something else I will have it. I asked my Dr about caffeine causing the mc and he said no!!! It was nothing that I did or did not do...Interesting that you posted that cause I was going to ask too!! Thanks for the caffeine info Robyn!!

Yes Frances I have a womb infection. I thought so as I have had the same thing after Joshua's birth and it was gonig the same way. I am on two differnt types of anti-biotics and the tablets look like something you would give a horse! They are ENORMOUS! I have been warned to expect Imogen to start fussing in a day or so as they will flavour my milk and with one I can't drink anything alcholic at all (not that I do when pregnant or b___stfeeding) as it will give a really nasty reaction.

FrancesM - January 21

Yikes! Well, I am glad you are on the mend with that. Maybe drink some sweet milk or eat something sweet. Maybe that will help the milk not taste so sour??

Tory1980 - January 21

No idea but I think it is just the meds in themselves. They taste vile going down my neck so I hope they don;t taste the same in the milk! LOL!

MPEAR, you are a crazy lady! Here I expected to open up your page and see a good sized bump that I could relate to, but you're so itty bitty! There was a girl in our August due date group built like you. I kept waiting for her to pop and waiting and waiting, but then her little girl had to go and arrive early! Another friend of mine didn't pop until the third trimester and three weeks later she was down to her pre-pregnancy weight! Maybe you'll get lucky like her! BTW your bridal picture is absolutely gorgeous! STEF - I can't believe you're going to make us wait so long for new belly pics! I absolutely adore your pregnancy. I am just so happy for you! I'm just like Robyn, every time I think about it I get all sentimental. I can't believe we're finally pg together again! I've gained 7 lbs this pregnancy since the last appt, so I'm glad I'm not the only one. I got paranoid that maybe I was doing something wrong and not gaining enough! Everytime people ask they always get this shocked look on their face... but baby seems healthy so I guess thats good. One girl in my due date group gained 9 lbs in one month, so I wonder if that'll happen to me. lol ... OH and I heard about that caffine article in my livejournal group. Most of the women there were quick to debunk it, also giving links to articles that completely went against these findings. I don't know if its the exact one, but from the thing I read I find it hard to believe. One study said there was about a 12% increase in the miscarriage rate, which isn't significant results at all. The same article I read also said "it doesn't hurt to cut out the caffine so you might as well!" along with "women need good guidance" which really made my blood boil! Unless mom has some type of condition or horrible accident, I really don't think she can do anything to cause a miscarriage in the first trimester.

Thanks girls for the info on caffeine. I thought the same - just wanted to here some opinions. DH is grasphing to fnd reasons why were aren't pregnant yet. I actually cut back on caffeine before my wedding and when I got pregnant the first time, I would have one or two a week...so I don't think it had anything to do w/ my mc. Anyway...thanks for the info on it. Torry - sorry to here about your infection. Hope it gets better soon. JEN - I don't think I ever answered your question - yes, I think I might go back to temping IF i can remember. I have thought about if for the past two days and each morning I get up without thinking to take it.

FrancesM - January 21

Does the 2nd trimester start at 12w1d or at 13w1d...

ZenGirl - January 21

AMANDA- i would love to watch your cycle through your temps, if you decide to do it. i put my thermometer right by the alarm clock so i can remember each morning. i agree with your hubby, btw... it could have been something much more uncomfortable in your shopping cart. lube, condoms, douche etc. when i take oan opk every day here at work i walk around with it in my hand and show everyone (i work with 2 girls in the office). lol...ok so we got our new cell phones today and i am pretty sure that the description did not say that you need a PHD in freakin rocket science!!! cheese and rice this thing is crazy!!

ChattyKathy - January 21

Amanda, doesn't that tug at your heartstrings? BF always seemed so rational, a "things just happen" type of guy and after the m/c he started wondering if maybe there was something wrong with his little swimmers and thats why we lost the babies. But I really do think these things just happen, same as not getting pg yet which can really just make you feel even more frustrated and wanting answers. About the caffine though, with my other pregnancies I really tried hard to do the right thing. I was determined not to eat anything bad and to be as healthy as I could and still lost them. This time, I just tried to enjoy my pregnancy rather than be the perfect mother. So, I have my soda and chocolate every now and then (okay, chocolate a bit more than just "now and then") and everything seems okay. I don't think it has as much effect as we fear. Infact, sodas were pretty much all I was drinking until a week or two after I got my BFP.

Frances, I have heard 12-14 weeks, so I think most people like to round it off at 13 weeks. I did my celebrating at 12w0d, personally, and just got even more congratulations for two weeks after that. lol

stefkay - January 21

Frances, it starts at 13w1d. That gives you the exact day to start. I am so a___l that I needed an exact day, lol. KATHY, I'm thinking about going ahead and doing 17 week pics, but we'll see. I absolutely hate having my pic taken and am thinking I'll do the ones from here on out with my head cut out! I know, it is so weird that sometimes I don't think it has hit me that we are all here (you me and robyn) who were in the August babies group ages ago! I am just as happy for you guys too....Oh! I was sitting typing on the computer a bit ago and felt what I swear to you were honest to god kicks...they felt so light and small that I nearly cried. That is what is going to start making this so real for me. I really think this one is going to make it! :)

pba74 - January 21

ZEN - so true! Thank goodness it wasn't any of those things in my cart. I think I might temp just b/c I can only take the EPO up until ovulation...after that I have to switch to flax seed. KATHY - what broke my heart was Saturday when he asked me why my neighbor is having another baby and we can't even have one. Talk about feeling low....I've made it appoint to stay positive all weekend and hype up the bd time we will be doing. He seems to be pretty excited about that. And I did the same thing with the first pregnancy...ate right, cut out all the extras and still lost my baby...so I think it is God's will when He choses to bless us. I mean if crack heads can conceive and carry full term I think I should be able to eat chocolate and drink a dr. pepper every now and then. Didn't Lori have an appt today? Where is she?

pba74 - January 21

Stef - Believe it!!!! You're going to be a mommy!!!! :)

stefkay - January 21

Oh, and the caffeine thing...I saw it on the Today show today and then our local news talked about it too (probably since it was on the national news today). I didn't hear the whole story, but 2 doctors were interviewed and they said to be safe, just cut out all caffeine. I don't think it's terrible, but I think some women can handle it and some can't in pregnancy. Like I used to smoke and swear that caused or had a lot to do with my miscarriages, yet people were always saying "oh no, that's not it as I know my friends sister's brothers wife smoked in all hers and they were fiiiiiiine"....i got so sick of hearing that. bottom line is that I don't think my body was up for it. Especially with the clotting disorder, caffeine and nicotine constrict blood vessels and I know smoking thickens blood, so I have to cut it all out. My 2 cents is that it's not something that HAS to be had, so why not cut it out for 9 months and then become a coffee junkie like I plan on doing after the baby is born? HAAAAA! :)

FrancesM - January 21

Amanda, good att_tude! If it is meant to be it will...That is all we can hope for! Thanks girls for the info on the 2nd trimester stuff. Kathy, you are popping right out there huh? You are so cute!! I am so happy this is going so well for you. You too Stef! We have lots more pgs to go so lots of luck for everyone this up coming month!! Amanda, I forgot to tell you that I too took Evening Primrose Oil, I had taken it in the past for b___st pain (happened during period) and for conception. Good luck with that. Jen, do you get buzzed from all the Robo? Robyn, how are you feeling today?
