Welcome old and new comers, pregnant and trying to get pregnant and (for me) new mums! LOL!

HoneyGlitter, BBT thermometers are usually found in Chemists but I actually got mine online as it was cheaper. It will measure more accurately than a normal digital thermometer although some ladies here have just used the normal ones and had no problems. It is a MUST that you take your temp at the same time every day or within about 30mins of the set time (use an alarm clock if you need to) and you need to have slept for at least three hours consecutively. It will also ask about cervical mucus and position and it is your choice if you want to track them bu it is better if you can at least check the CM as it gives a better indication as to what is going on Ovulation wise.

copying and pasting from the other thread! TORY is too fast for me :)) .......KIMHRON-i am so sorry about your loss. from what i have researched. the older your eggs are the more likely they are for a chromosome defect. they say that chromosome defects are the major reason for all miscarriages. sometimes it just takes the body longer to recognize that something is wrong. are you seeing a dr? if not maybe your dr can better your chances for the next pregnancy. unfortunately the older we get the more the quality of the egg diminishes but there are some things that can be done to help you improve the quality i think. your age will play a factor as to what treatments may or may not work for you.....TORY AND CYNDI- first off... thnak you girls for looking at my chart! i super duper appreciate it!! so i took out the cervical position and nothing changed. the only way it changes is if i take out my positive opk. and i am CONFIDENT about that positive opk. it could not have been any more positive so i will keep it in there. but i don't know why it waited unitl today to change the crosshairs?? that opk has been in there since the day i took it. maybe the temps just verify that or something... i dunno... i just know that the bd'ing looked better the other way. i HOPE, HOPE, HOPE that maybe things worked!!!....AMANDA- i would vote for the 11,13,15,17 pattern or you could end up like me and bd too much before hand although i have read that the few days leading up to O, the day of and the day after are optimal. it's just so hard because you don't really see O clearly sometimes unitl it is in your rearview mirror. the opk's do help though and i know you are stocked up on those!! do one everyday then do then even a couple days after you think you O'd to confirm. that's what i did this cycle and i feel confident about the tests... GOOD LUCK!!!! :)) =

HONEYGLITTER- you can get a basal body thermometer at CVS, Walmart, Target. they are about $6-$10. yo uhave to take you temp at the same time every morning (preferably the same spot in your mouth-i put mine under my tongue all the way back on the left side like it is going to poke thru my mouth!). you HAVE to do this every morning before you get out of bed, talk, drink, brush your teeth. it sounds a bit tedeous (sp?) but you get used to it pretty quickly.

I'm glad you made this new thread Tory, I was having some probs with loading the other one too! I'll repeat my question from part 73 just in case it wasn't read. I was just reading through the fertility friend handbook and I see that I should start charting my BBT. Where can I get one of these thermometers? And what brand should I get? Also, can I chart my temp at different times in the morning or does it have to be at the same exact time every single morning?

HoneyGlitter - January 25

Ok, disregard my last message, I copied my post from the last board but was too slow for you guys, because I see that you already answered my question!! So thank you for the info Tory and ZenGirl!!! *Amber*

another BBT hint. the one i have has a memory on it. and will shut off on it's own after a bit. so i wake up, take my temp, then just put the thing back down and go back to sleep. it turns itself off and when i wake up i turn it on and the first temp it reads is the one i took that morning.... that way you are not having to write it down at that moment. try doing all that and not waking up DH!!!

Sorry ZEN! Kimhron, answering from the other thread - a lot depends on you if you want to wait to miscarry on your own or if you want to have a D&C. You need to be aware thought that it can take up to 4 weeks for the body to recognise that the baby has died so it could be a very long drawn out thing and you ned to be prepared for that. Also be prepared for a lot of bleeding and at 12weeks you WILL see the baby. It will be perfectly formed but tiny. If you want to have a D&C then ask for one - it is your choice. I miscarried on the ward waiting for a D&C but had to have one the following day because of excessive bleeding and retained tissue so you may find you will need one anyway. I fell pregnant again on my 2nd cycle after the D&C and my periods returned 33 days (standard for me) after the operation. I still believe the D&C helped in getting my cycles back to 'normal'. Do what is right for you and if the operation is what you want make sure to get it. If you want to wait then do so. There is no right or wrong way to deal with this, just what is best for you.

LOL ZenGirl! I didn't know the thermometers were digital with memory, that is so cool. I will try to find one like that then. Thanks! *Amber*

Amber, sorry! This thread moves very fast and answers come quick if we are online! LOL! That last thread was taking forever to load so I gave up and made a new one. Zen, gut feeling. Think you nailed that egg?

Morning girls man you all are chatty this morning. DUCKIE - glad you got into a cla__s this weekend and sorry hubby is sick no excuse not to go with you though if its just a cold. Good luck with your upcoming appt i hope you give these people hell. KIMHRON - i hate to say welcome to a m/c thread but this is the place for the best support i know i had ever found. I had to terminate at 14 /12 weeks last Feb for no amniotic fluid i am currently 34 weeks pregnant now but of these pregnancies were IVF pregnancies i just turned 39 last week. I am terribly sorry for what you are going thru was this a natural pregnancy or did you get help with a fertility specialist? I think as for a D&C or natural m/c its a personal choice but from what i have learned from people who decided to let nature take its course sometimes it could take 3 or 4 weeks before it happens and with a D&C its just done and then you can start to heal. Obviously the older we get the chances increase for abnormalities but that does not mean its going to happen again to you. I am sure some other girls on here can offer more advice than myself.

ZenGirl - January 25

TORY- to answer your question... my gut feeling??...did we nail the egg??.... no. i see us going thru with the IUI next cycle. maybe that is just my cynical side but i still HOPE that we may have a chance at a bfp this cycle....

Tory1980 - January 25

Zen, you never know! Look at Stef and Lori - they both thought there wasn't a chance (remember Lori bought in supplies) and they are both definitely pregnant! Even if this proves to not be your month next month will be!

ZenGirl - January 25

For goodness sake (and MINE) i hope you are right, TORY!! thanks for the vote of confidence :))

cyndilea1973 - January 25

TORY---You crack me up!!! I promise we will only catch a quickie in broom closet on O day..hee hee..most people who have worked around us in the past always compliment us on our professionalism in the workplace..we keep the shmoopiness to a minimum..we found dirty text messaging to help us out when we worked here together! I just love working around my dh.he is SO good at his job and EASY on the eyes LOL. Enough about me though...FRANCES--Still working out, you are so good for keeping it up! AMBER--The BBT thermometers are pretty cheap at Walmart..I bought one there and the dang thing does NOT have last temp recall so I have to recite the numbers over and over until I get the notepad in the bathroom ..my dh would CRACK UP if he knew I kept a diary in the loo! ++Cyndi++
