OK- I am reposting: Morning girls- yeah its a SNOW DAY here-- no work for me- unfortunately my ds stayed at grandma's last night b/c the normal sitter is out of town, so I will have to go and get him. MAGGIE-STEF- don't be worried about b___stfeeding, troy is right that it does hurt, but once you get used to it, you will love it!!! and the pain does go away after the first 30 sec and when your nipples get used to it, it doesn't hurt at all. I only got a breat infection b/c I used those stupid cheap pads- spend the money, get the good ones, and change them often is my advice. Pumping is a pain in the b___t, but you do it knowing how good it is for your baby. And Julie is right- if you work, the madela is great and you have to use it often (I used mine for 7 mo) but if you stay at home, there really isn't a need for a big one if you aren't going to use it that much. DUCKIE- the pics are adorable. Hope you can post soon to tell us about him!

AND AGAIN- so sorry!!! ROBYN- thanks for the prediction. My MIL will be thrilled!!! I don't really care, but some of me hopes it is a boy b/c it will be born within the same week as my son was! and if it's not, then my sister (remember the one who is pg with her 3rd illigitimate child- no dad around) is just about to pop and she is having a boy and she expects me to give her all of the clothes I have!! I really don't want to b/c I don't think she takes care of her daugthers clothes at all, but I will feel obligated. Well see. I would LOVE a girl, but a little p___s would take care of A LOT of my worries with her! OH and I need some advice. She asked me yesterday to be in the room while she is giving birth. I DO NOT WANT TO. I am in no way excite that she is having a third child she can't take care of, and the people in the room should be the ones giving support. I don't want to be fake, but I don't think she really has anyone else. So I am stuck. ANd then she wants it taped, but I am the one with the camera OH- i don't think that I could watch her giving birth w/o thinking it should have been my baby. I would have been due in 6 more days! and I don't know if you remember i found out she was pg the day after my d&c. I don't know why this is giving me a headache- but it is!

Tory1980 - March 5

Sara, I am surprised it isn't a full b__wn migraine!!! As for the sister the clothes is easy. You tell her that you aren't sure what you are having and you want to keep the clothes until then as you may need them and if not you will pa__s everything over after the baby is born. Being in the room is more difficult if she doesn't have any one else for support but if you are really uncomfortable about the idea just tell her you can't handle the thought of being there but you can lend her the camera. As much as I love my sister I know I wouldn't have been anywhere near her room when she was delivering - not that we could anyway as doors are locked and you are only allowed one person in at a time in delivery suite! When is she due? Hell make up an excuse that your son seems to have picked up a bug and has a bit of a dodgy stomach and you don't want to infect the newborn. It is a nightmare though and one that isn't going to go away by the looks of things.

Good morning ladies.........I am finally back !! Had to suck it up and buy new computer, thanks to my idiot nephew....I have missed everyone, and alot of wonderful news !!!! Congrats to all the new mommies...I hope you are all doing well, and settling in comfortably with your new bundles. Frances !!!!!!!!!! Congrats on the healthy baby boy. I am so happy that the u/s went well. How far along are you now?....As for all the talk about b___st pumps, I too need all the advice I can get. I was planning to b___stfeed Olivia when she was born, but she since she was 6 weeks early, I couldn't get her to latch on properly or even suck....She had not developed that reflex being so small. I was forced to use formula because she needed a higher calorie formula to help her gain weight. I remember being so scared when I took her home at 4lbs 12ozs. She was tiny, but soon started eating like crazy. That being said, I plan on b___stfeeding this next baby. Sara, thanks for the tip on the insurance covering your pump. I think I will check with mine later on in the pregnancy. I am only 11 weeks today, so I have plenty of time. Jen...Sorry to hear about af showing up. I will keep you in my prayers. I have a good feeling about the next IUI working for you. My best friend ended up trying IUI, and the first try never took for her, but the second time around she ended up with 2 beautiful daughters....Emily and Ella. I know it is easier said than done, but try and stay positive, you have alot of friends here cheering you on....Good Luck......Well ladies, I have to get ready for my day....I hope everyone has a wonderful day, and I can't wait to get back on here later to chat......

Good Morning Ladies, Hope you are all well. SARAMCG....Yes we are going ttc straight away. Congratualations to all that have new babies, I am trying to catch up with everyone, but take a little time, but will get there eventually. Speak to you all later. xxxx

Tory1980 - March 5

Sara, yes tell her that the baby refused to 'show' one way or the other. Look at bloody Imogen! She sat as still as anything for all the measurements etc but when I said about finding out the s_x she crossed her legs and sat on them! Bob insisted from then on it was a girl because she was being so 'modest' I said if it was it was because she was being bloody akward!

saramcg - March 5

Tory that is funny about Imogen- who knows- maybe I won't find out after all!But all signs for me ,point to boy, so hopefully it is not just wishful thinking! HI LEslie- how is everything going with your pg? are you getting a little tummy pooch yet? DIXIE- all of these girls are absolutely great when ttc. it is a great group for support! So chime in whenever you feel comfortable! OK- I am bored now (ha- can you tell- I think I posted like 5 times!!!) so I think I will go get my son and bother my MIL for the morning. I like hanging out with her anyways- so I will bw back this afternoon!

Hi girls- before I leave- I called the place about the pumps. They don;t sell the Medela original (it was discontimued) and they have the new 2008 Medela Advanced models out. THey are $230 for the backback or shoulder one. But they also have a new one that is "hands-free" and you can walk around while pumping!!! (I might have to look into this one!!!) It is more expensive ($325) but if insurance covers it for you? You can check them all out at their web site (hackleyhme dot com) with the w's, but my last post got vetoed!!! JULIE- they also have all of the replacement parts online, so you can go and compare prices (i don't know if those are cheaper) They also sell Ameda pumps. THey have the "all inclusive" ones with bag and cooler and accessories for $200. I think the basic one at target is $150, but it doesn't come with case ect. There are prices for everything online but the Medelas (they are not allowed to sell online- only over the phone) but the number is online and they are great on the phone. So if you are interested- check out the web site- hope this helps all of you b___stfeeding moms to be!

ZenGirl - March 5

Morning chatty girls!! i will out my 2 cents in on the b___st feeding. i used the lasinoh(sp?) cream after evey shower and after every feeding religiuosly. i did not hurt one bit. no cracking, no infections. i recommend that brand. it is not messy and it is safe for the baby. as for the leaking. i had HORRIBLE leakage. i could not leave the house for more than an hour without looking like i stood up against a wet wall. i had to wear black on top everyday. i tried everything and finally got something called the B.L.I.S. it is the b___st leakage inhibitor system. you can google it and see what you think....DUCKIE - Alden is a handsome boy! he has character already, huh? peeing on the Dr.s, doing impressions and dancing?!? boy you will have your hands full!!......KRISTIN- PPLLEEAASSEE listen to TORY. don't play around witht this!

BriannasMummy - March 5

HI girlies.. thought Id stop in before my hectic day starts.. although I think it already has. My bil called last night and he was in a different town about 1 hour away.. and his daughter was with her grandmother here. He asked us to go and pick her up and let her spend the night.. which is no big deal.. but when we showed up the grandmother wasnt prepared to keep ANY of the 3 kids overnight so we ended up with all of them!! So instead of having a nice relaxing morning Ive been taking care of 5 kids.. UGH! TORI: My doctors appointment is for 3 oclock today.. well see what he says. Right now I am doing everything I can not to itch my legs off.. its driving me nuts! I personally cant see yellow.. I look in the mirror and I look normal.. a little pale but normal... its other people that see it?! I dunno. Delivery is less then 24 hours away. What kind of things will change if they do find the cholestasis?? Im not really understanding a lot of it. SARA: Nice to see you posting a lot.. I love it in fact. You were truely missed on your "break". Sounds like you are a fountain of information when it comes to b___stfeeding. The nursey people at the hospital are trying to get me to do it.. I am not looking forward to it AT ALL.. all i can think of is the severe pain it gives me.. a little selfish im sure. DUCKIE: Hes a very handsome little boy. Hahaha about peeing all over the doctors. When Ka__si was born they held her up over my face after they brought her out.. LOL and she peed all over MY FACE.. all i could do was laugh. It was a good christening. DIXIE: Nice to see you again. Do you chart your temps.. or do you use OPKS?? Where are you in the ttc game? Just wanna be able to follow closely. LESLIE: 11 weeks already?!)* WOW!! Thats awesome. Just keep in mind that a pregnancy flies and then at the end it feels as though youve just blinked, and its all over. Jenny: How are things with you? are you feeling alright with trudging along? I hope so.. how did the dr's appointment go? Anyway.. Ive gotta get the troops moving and pack the rest of the bags for the girls. Love you all.. be back later! ~Kristin~

FrancesM - March 5

Morning ladies. John's aunt has taken a turn for the worst so we will prob be up there this afternoon so...Kristin, if I am not able to get on later, good luck tomorrow with everything! I will be thinking about you! Sara, I wish I could get a snow day but being that I work from home, I don't see that happening! LOL I asked the u/s tech about feeling kicks near my belly b___ton and she said yes, you uterus us right here (and poked me right under my belly b___ton). Welcome back Leslie! Glad you got a new computer! I am almost 18 weeks now. Julie, I don't know if this little man will be an Auggie or not LOL I know Augustus will be in there somewhere and I will call him the other name we decide on. LOL I am not going to take that name away from DH...Jen, you are not the only one that loves that name so thank you for loving it too! I am getting more used to it. I called my mom this morning and she asked how Augustus Bean was! I was laughing...When is your Dr appt? Good morning to everyone else. I am sorry if I did not give a shout out. I am on call right now from the hospital and trying to get my work done so I won't have to worry about it.

FrancesM - March 5

Duckie, I forgot to mention that Alden is quite the looker. Can't wait to hear from you. All of you new mommies are so blessed! This is just so great.

Tory1980 - March 5

Kristin, b___stfeeding isn't for everyone and it isn't being selfish by deciding not to do it. It will make you miserable which will make baby un-happy so why bother? Might as well do something you are both comfortable with and if that is bottle feeding do so. The cholestasis affects liver function (and often blood results aren't significant) by reducing its ability to rid the body of the bile acids. It's the bile acids that cause the itch as it enters the blood stream. This is why itching doesn't work and why you can draw blood without getting any relief at all. When it comes to delivery the main concern is hemorraghing as it is a very strong possibility and obviously something that needs to be addressed with v____al and section births. With Imogen the blood loss wasn't that bad but with Logan ******TMI ALERT****** I could literally feel the blood pouring out of me and when I said this to the midwife and she pulled back the sheet the whole bed under me was bright red. She paniced a whole lot and I didn't feel too great but they gave me something and that stopped it pretty quick. I was lucky though and didn't need a transfusion but I was a bit woozy for a day or so. There is a SLIGHTLY higher chance of stillbirth with babies whose mothers suffer from cholestasis around term but because most Doctors won't allow you to go over 37/38 weeks it is difficult to say just how high it could be. It is SLIGHT though so don't panic. Babies may be born jaundiced or develop it in the normal time frame BUT it will often be prolonged (after 14 days) so don't worry. The only real time you would need to be concerned (as you know) is if they are very very sleepy, off feeds or difficult to wake to feed. Also, ******TMI ALERT****** (again) one clue they will say about cholestasis is dark urine and pale stools. Stools don't count if you are taking iron but they are other clues.

Question - March 5
