Thin Lining

May - March 11

I am 30. After almost two years of trying, I managed to get pregnant twice in three months. Both times was conception, and two weeks after ovulation the lining was thick enough (first time it was 11 mm, and second 12 mm). However, a week after that - three weeks post ovulation, the ultrasound showed it was thin (6 mm and 3,5 mm respectively). Have you ever heard of a situation like this? Is there any treatment?

Hi May! I have read on-line that Infertility Specialists are now using Viagra suppositories to thicken linings or baby aspirin. Also, my friend had this problem and had to take infertility shots which promoted ovulation and thickened her lining. She could conceive on her own, but her lining couldn't support a pregnancy and she miscarried every time without the Gonal-F shots. She has 3 healthy children now. I am taking baby aspiring myself right now to help prevent another miscarriage while trying to conceive. Good Luck to us both!

hi... i haven't had ultrasounds, but being a bit on the older side it is common apparently for progesterone levels to be lower (can happen in younger women too) .... progesterone is essential for maintaing the lining of the uterus (the drop in progesterone is what causes a period when ovulation doesn't take place)... i am starting on progesterone cream after ovulation this cycle to see how it goes... conceived last cycle but it didn't hold... will see how it goes...
