Hello Ladies, I am new to the board so let me briefly explain my situation. I just lost my daughter to stillbirth at 35 1/2 weeks on September 24, 2005. She was beautiful and perfect in every way and I will miss her until I die. I had a placental abruption from what they doctor now thinks was hypertension. I am lucky to be here. In any case...the doctor said I had to wait two cycles before we can try again to conceive. I delivered my baby girl va___ally, naturally and the bleeding stopped at roughly 5-6 weeks after delivery. How long does it take to get the first normal period after the bleeding from delivery stops? I am feeling crampy...but also have some discharge going on which would be more indicative of being mid-cycle...not near the end. Yikes, my own body feels foreign these days. Thanks for any help ladies... Kristi

Kristi, you are so strong. To miscarry at 35.5 weeks is a nightmare come to life and I have all the respect in the world for you.

Kristi, I lost my daughter at 34 1/2 weeks on August 11, 2005. I had an unexplained stillbirth. I ,too, had a v____al delivery. The lochia stopped for me around 4 weeks. I got my first period at 5 1/2 weeks and then my 2nd cycle was 35 days later. I get to my post partum appt at 9 weeks b/c of schedule conflicts and the Dr. came in immediately and said "when are you trying again" So... we're in the process. It can take up to 8 weeks to get your first period after delivery though. I would call the dr if you dont get it by 8 weeks. Good luck!
