I just had a early miscarriage at 5 weeks. My dr. said They sometimes call it a late period and if I ws not trying to get pg. I might not even of known it. I passed everything natually. He is still telling me to wait 3 months I want to ttc in sept. I keep reading of other people dr.telling them to wait 1 cycle. I have had 3 healthy pg and now 1 miscarriage. Should I wait?

Hi Becki: I am so sorry about your m/c. It is such a painful experience even when it happens early. Regarding your question: 3 cycles, gosh, that seems like a long time, especially since you have a history of really normal pregnancies/babies. I m/c at 8 weeks and my doctor told me only to wait one cycle, and if I got pregnant before that, oh well! ;-) I think the 3 cycle advice is kind of an old wives' tale...unless there was some SPECIFIC reason they'd like you to wait, my doc says you are fine to start trying again when you are ready. If your body is ready to conceive, it will. If it's not, chances are high that you won't. I hope this helps...

Hi becky! When I had my m/c in April, my dr. told me to wait 3 months also, to give the endometrium a chance to really thicken. He also said that more times than not women who m/c often m/c again if they don't wait a couple of months. That's statistics for ya, BUT, I know several women who m/c then got pregnant the very next cycle and had no problems whatsoever. Good luck to you, lots of baby dust and super glue!
