how to control miscarriage and what is the medicine for miscarriage

kc - June 8

I mc on april 23. I had spotting for around a week and low hcg levels. No cramping and the ultrasound looked good. I heard if I took progesterone it could help save the baby. I just went to the doctor for a anual exam. I asked him a few questions. He told me that progesterone is best given for later term and I was only 7 weeks. The reason is, if you loose a baby early on that mean there is something developmentary wrong with the baby or the attachment of the placenta. In my case it was the placenta. He said the progesterone can prevent the MC from happening if the reason is due to your ovaries not producing enough progesterone or you are further than 12-12 weeks, however, if used before 10-12 weeks of pregnancy you end up loosing the baby later in the prenancy or have a very sick baby who doesn't make it. He suggested against using it. I hope you are further along and if you think there is a problem go to your doctor immediately don't wait. See what he or she thinks about progesterone. Each pregnancy is different. If your problems are due to your ovaries not making enough progesterone this treatment will help. In my case the placenta was not properly attached. I know this is not what you wanted to hear. Good luck to you. I hope you and your baby are going to be ok. Lots of Luck to you and your husband.
