Hello ladies, i too am confused! I'll try and make this as short as possible! I am 36 yrs old. I've had thyroid issues since I was 13. In May of last year (2015) I had RAI treatment for Graves' disease. I have three kids (18,15 and 8). My period has never ever been late even through my thyroid craziness! My cycle is approximately 23-24 days and it lasts from 7-9 days. And like I said never late!!! The only times I didn't have a period was when I was pregnant! April 8th (2016) was the first day of my last period. Didn't think anything of it, but it was a couple of days shorter than usual and not as heavy (I usually have a very heavy flow). So May 4th came by and what I thought was my period, was a couple of days late and only some spotting for a day. Then about a week later spotting again, didn't even last a day. I am now 31 days late and had some spotting. Took a hpt and negative! I've always had awesome pregnancies! I never had tender breasts nor morning sickness! I also never took hpt with my previous pregnancies because I just knew! This time is a little bit different because my husband had a vasectomy about 6 yrs ago!!! I know it's possible to still get pregnant as it happened to my friends mother and a coworker but what are the chances? i forgot to mention that when I had spotting on May 4th I was having cramps but not as bad as usual and I continued to have them for a few days after that but no period?! Don't know what to think!

Hi!

I just wanted to add my story about something similar that happened to me in 2014/2015 and I think it's happening all over again now. On my 21st birthday in October 2014 I got pregnant and had NO clue. I didn't even have a period in September or October. I was careless and thought since I didn't have a period I couldn't get pregnant since I wasn't ovulating. WRONG. I was just being very stupid. Well, I took 20+ pregnancy tests all different brands and all of them were negative. I didn't think to go to the doctor because I thought it was all in my mind. So I just kept living life. I had very few symptoms the next few months but in February 2015 I got very, very sick. I thought I had a severe UTI or kidney infection. I went to an urgent care center and they did blood tests and urine tests to see if I was pregnant and other things. Finally after 5 hours there they said I had IBS and a kidney infection. At that time I was convinced I was crazy and since a doctor told me I wasn't pregnant I obviously wasn't. WRONG again. Ironically enough, the medication for IBS and nausea and for the kidney infection made me feel great. Fast forward to June 28, 2015. I moved to in with my boyfriend soon to be child's father, and I had these terrible pains like I did before when I went to the doctor when I was told I had IBS and a kidney infection. So I called my mom to take me to an urgent care across the street and to bring my old prescription bottles because those medications helped me. Well to wrap up the story I was 32 weeks pregnant with preeclampsia and had to deliver that night. LOL! Everyone was in total shock. I didn't look pregnant I didn't feel pregnant I had a feeling something was "off" about my body, but only in the beginning. I didn't have a positive urine or blood test until I was 32 weeks. My labor and delivery were awful, my blood pressure was so high that they had to take my blood every 30 mins. The veins in my arms and hands were all dried up they eventually had to start taking my blood from my feet. For 14 hours I didn't dilate so I ended up having a c-section. It was miserable, but I'd do it a million times over again. My only regret is that I just wish I knew when I took my at home pregnancy tests, so I could've taken better care of myself. Even though my daughter was a preemie and born at only 3 pounds, she wasn't in the NICU but for 5 days. I am so grateful she's never had any health issues, I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if she had. She's now a very tall, healthy, goofy and active little girl. Her 2nd birthday will be on June 29. She is my biggest blessing.

Ever since delivering her my periods have been normal, until now. I haven't had a period since April 16. We tried to get pregnant the day I ovulated on May 3rd. I'm so afraid of the same thing happening to me all over again. I would be almost 7 weeks if I am pregnant. I've taken 6 tests so far, all negative just like in 2014. I made an appointment for Wednesday, thankfully my OBGYN knows my history with my daughter. The crazy thing is, he was telling me my situation is a lot more common than I would think. I would be so happy to have another baby, but if not that's okay too we'll just try again. I just don't want to go all that time not knowing. I don't drink or smoke anyway so that's not an issue, it's just I would love to know before 32 weeks. Lol. I would also love to go full term. However, it's likely I would have preeclampsia or have a high-risk pregnancy again, so I'm really anxious to find out. Moral of my story is to find a good OBGYN that listens to you!! Good luck to everyone that's TTC.
