Birth Control No Period For 3 Months

I haven't had my period for three months now. Blood tests have come back negative, but it's like I'm PMSing non-stop. Plus I've gained weight when I was barely eating. I also had my first urinary tract infection... never had one before, I heard they are common during pregnancy. I want to change my pill but my doctor said that since I wasn't pregnant according to the blood test that the pill was working so I should just stay on it. I don't see how not having a period for three months straight is working. I'm supposed to get a cryogenic deal done this month but I'm terrified that something will go wrong because I haven't had a period for so long. Do you think the doctor would be able to tell if I were pregnant by looking and be able to stop the procedure? I have no clue how to know for sure that I am 100% not pregnant. Can it really be normal to be on the pill and not have a period?
