My sister in law bought me a cheap pregnancy test from knock off store and it was a dollar if that gives you any clues. I've taken the test and it came back negative. My period was sept. 10th and we've been TTC since then and i was wondering what you girls thought about the brand of the test and how effective you think it might be

First Response early result tests are the most sensitive? How long are your cycles? If your last period was on the 10th, you probably just ovulated a few days ago (I might be able to help you figure out when a LITTLE better if I know how many days your regular period is). If the egg was fertilized, a pregnancy test probably wouldn't show positive until atleast ten days past ovulation. Most women will not test positive until a couple days before their period is due, and some not till a few days after.

My cycles have been 30 days the past few months.

I would guess you probably ovulated around the 26th then (that's just a guess you might need to give or take a few days) so you probably wouldn't be able to get a positive (an early one at that) until at least the 6th. Even if you get a negative then, I still wouldn't count yourself out because that's still pretty early to test. It's deffinately too early for you to get a positve result, so I hope that makes you feel better. You can get a 3 pack of first response at walmart for around $13. A little over four bucks a test is pretty good and they are the most sensitive tests on the market.
