Faint Positive

This morning i used an Hpt called Answer Quick and Simple and had a barely visible positive line show up. Has anyone else used this brand and had this happen? Were you pregnant or not?

connie - December 13

Yes, I have. Once when I took it it was dark and I was pregnant, and on another seperate occasion, I took one that was faint and I was not pregnant. So, I guess I didn't really give you much hope here did I? :( But, if you are really early, then that faint is very likely a positive result. Good Luck and let us know!!

So last night i took another test (First Response) and got an even fainter positive, but this morning i got a negative with a first response. I don't know what to think

Hey, I took 6 clear blue easy early pregnancy test around 6 weeks ago and 5 were very faint positive and 1 was negative, but it turns out im pregnant! The negative test was a different brand! I hope that helped! Goodluck

amberk, I am a bit confused. I thought you said that you took 6 clearblue easy test, then you say that the negative one was another brand? Do mean that it was a differnet "style" of clearblue easy? (ie. digital vs lines ve. the new ones where the tip turns pink to show enough urine was absorbed (my what they come up with next for people... LOL). If this is the case, Which style of the clearblues came out positive and which one was negative? I took the new one that the tip turns pink and it came up faintly but DEFINITELY a positive line, same width as the contol line too within 1 minute, probably more like 30 seconds!! So, I am curious to see if different styles of the line tests read differently. Thanks for your help :)

My last period was Oct 20, I took a test Nov 27th (no period) It showed a very faint pos, I took another one in the morning, same faint pos. I went to the doctor the next day, they told me that their test was negative but it may be too early and my HCG level isn't high enough and wait it out, I waited 3 more weeks and today 12-19 I took another test and it was very VERY positive! I believe a FAINT positive is definately positive! It just took me a little while to really show up on the tests! 9 weeks pregnant today! Good luck to you!

Well, I went to the doctors and they did a urine test which came up negative. I just don't know what to think. Last month my period was short and scanty and this month my period was even shorter and scantier. I called the number on the package and the lady said not very many false positives were reported but the doctor did an ultrasound and saw nothing at all.

Mel you could b very early which is why ur urine test showed so faint. As well as with the ultrasound u would not see much at all right now. I do suggest however trying a sensitive test like a cvs store brand. First morning urine and make sure u get at least 7hrs of sleep.....

T - December 20

by the way i tested neg on a urine test years ago at a clinic and come to find out i was still pregnant.

Mel - December 20

Thank you so much for your response, but do you think it is possible to be two months pregnant and still testing negative??? It seems like at two months there would be something to see in a sonogram.

Yep Mel - I am thinking the same thing. My ultrasound showed a 'blip' in my uterus (according to the doctor) and they are a__suming it's a fibroid tumor. In the meantime, I have tested faintly positive on an hpt last Thursday - but have tested neg on 2 blood tests, and 2 urine tests at the docs office. In the meantime, I am STILL showing symptoms of pregnancy. I would be roughly 8 weeks right now if I am pg. T has given me some good advice. I am going to do another hpt - but I think I'm gonna wait at least another week (when I would be roughly 9 weeks - like Michelle when she finally tested pos). I wish you the best of luck if being pg is something that you really want. I will keep everybody posted on my situation. I am willing to accept it either way. But quite frankly, it would be nice to have one more child before I am too old to have any more. Happy Holidays Everyone!

T - December 21

Yes u could definitely be 2months and test negative. Im just like michelle, i tested neg with 2 blood tests and a few urine tests,,,and now im testing positive with my urine tests at home.

Lisa - December 21

T - what about the ultrasound at 2 months? Well, actually I would've been almost or barely 2 months. Is it possible that since my uterus tips to the back, that they could've 'Missed' something. Could that 'blip' have been a baby? Or am I just in denial that the docs are right and my body (and that darn hpt I took last week!) is wrong?

Lisa - December 21

Hey, I don't know if this will help or not - but I guess I should mention the 'Brand' that used that I got the 'Faint' positive on. It was First Response Early Result (supposedly they test at 15 -25 hcg - depending on what internet report you believe). I tested neg on that test MANY times before I got that faint line. Anybody here believe that it could've been a False Positive? I am not on any medication, haven't had any symptoms of an ectopic pg - so who knows, right?

T - December 21

LISA,, yes thats it omg,, mine does too, i have a tilted uterus and u bet ur azzz thats whats wrong......I freaked when i saw ur message just now srry, but wow,, ur right

T - December 21

lol srry one more thing,, first response wow, this is crzy,, but first of all ur too early for one im telling u that bcuz i was too. They say 4days before u miss a period but not true!!!!!!!!....

Lisa - December 21

T - I am right about what? That because my uterus is 'tipped' to the back they COULD have missed the baby? Or that the hpt I took was a false pos? The thing that gets me is HOW could I fail 2 blood and urine tests at the docs office???? It sure does sound you and I have A LOT in common, doesn't it?
