How Reliable Are At Home Pregnancy Tests

I took an at home pregnancy test a week ago. (March 23rd) It tested positive. That same day I went to the doctor, but not my normal doctor as I wanted to find out quickly for sure. She said if it said positive, I was for sure pregnant. I just want to know if thats right or what are the odds of getting a negative, positive result. Tomorrow I'm going to the doctors again and I will be asking for a pregnancy for reasurance. Oh and I have had pregnancy symptoms.

Sarah, what makes you think those tests are wrong? The doctor said you're pregnant--do you believe us more than him/her? Maybe, you should ask for a blood test. Would that make you feel better? CONGRATS

well I was just wondering if they could be wrong. The doctor was very indecisive and didn't really help me out much and such. I'll see what the doctor has to say. I'm sure im pregnant when I think back to the past 2 and a half months thanks :)

The tests are 99% effective when taken properly. You cannot get a false positive. The doctors use the same tests in clinics. Congrats !
