What Does An Early Positive Result Mean

This is my third pregnancy and I was quite surprised to find out that I was pregnant again. I am taking an anatomy class and last week I couldn't stand the smell of the cadavor. (Not that I ever actually enjoy the smell, it just usually doesn't bother me.) I went ahead and took a hpt 6 days early and it came back post_tve. This means that it registered 8-9 days after conception. This seems awefully early. Does it indicate anything?

Perhaps you might have gotten pregnant the month prior to your last period? What you might have experienced was implantation bleeding. Was the flow lighter or any different? Also, some women continue to have their periods while being pregnant, perhaps this is the case with this pregnancy. Congratulations by the way! ~Kristin~

Hi ErinM. If you got pg this time around, it's good that you got the early+. It means that you implanted earlier, which gives you a better chance of staying pg than implanting later does. Be happy.

Actually last month I had a very heavy period, so I don't think I was pregnant then. I had some bleeding with my first, but nothing with my second, so I'm fairly certain that I did just concieve this month. Thanks for the feedback!

It might be exactly as sososleepy said.. you might have implanted early causing a good amount of HCG.. or in some cases twins or multiples can cause higher amounts of HCG. Regardless... CONGRATULATIONS!! ~Kristin~
