2nd Trimester Worry Anyone Have This

Hi ladies, I am 22 weeks and everything has gone well so far. the past couple days though I have been getting mild lower back aches and a feeling of fullness in my lower abdomen- right around my bikini line. Is this normal? I am more worried about the full feeling more than the back ache I guess b/c the feeling seems reminiscent of pms and the internet just scares me with ideas of incompetent cervix etc. I hope it is normal?

I can't answer your question, but I know if you are worried about incompetent cervix your doctor can do a measurement in u/s to let you know the the length between your placenta and your cervix is "normal" (i.e. less risk for incompetent cervix) I know my doctor does this measurment for me b/c I am high risk patient. I actually have two incompetent cervices so he has to monitor me more closely.

oops! I meant to say that I have two cervices not two "incompetent cervices" so I am extra worried about complications.

Thanks ginger6363. Do you know if they can they tell this from a sonogram? it seems that aches are normal from the other threads but this is my first and I am worried about everything sometimes!!

ginger.....I have 2 cervices also! Do you have a didelphic uterus? You are the first person, other than myself, that I've ever heard of having a similar issue as me. I'm pregnant in my left side and the doc measured my cervix on that side at 16w and said all is good. I go again at week 21 and then every 2 weeks after that to get it checked. I think that is the highest risk for women like us.

I think they do the cervix check routinely at your 20 week ultrasound, but you can always ask the tech/doctor if you aren't sure.
