Morning! I'm the first one here again??? I'm so happy about the house, Misty! Is the house in good enough shape to move into in June?

Yes it sure is. I'm very excited too. Although a bit scared of the sudden responsibility. The only things we found with the house were that in the master bathroom it had leaked around the shower so they put a foam there and that took care of it and it had leaked in the corner of the roof of one of the rooms. Bu they put foam there also. I asked the lady living in the house (who is renting it) if it leaked and she said she had been renting there for over a year and the owner put the foam there before she moved in and it never leaked. Now she could have been lying, but she is a tenant there, not the owner, so I don't see why she would lie about it.

Oh yeah, and there is duct tape around one of the windows in the back to keep the screen in place. We even checked under the sinks for leaking and under the trailor to see if there was water damage to the wood from leaking and didn't find anything.

Oh, and there is a house inspector coming to look at the house and we put a contingency on the $500 good faith deposit that we would get it back if the house didn't appraise at value.

Even if the foam isn't working, those sound like some pretty simple fixes. The tenant may not be aware of some subtle leaks... but I'm sure you or your dad can find that and fix it! That is great! Yes, it is a lot of responsibility, but I sure prefer owning to renting! At least you have something of value for your money, instead of giving it all to the landlord! Ahhhh... I'm so happy for you!

So I take it that this is a mobile home? We've looked at a lot of them, and it seems like if there is water damage, you'll find it under sinks or in laundry areas.... that's a good sign it wasn't showing damage... single or double wide?

I really am too. I just hope Mike can really cut back enough to be able to afford it on hiis own during the point in time when I won't be able to work. The money aspect of it scares me right now. All of a sudden getting a house is real and it is hitting me what all could go wrong. But.....it does have a very nice yard, and I figure I will just work my a__s of picking up as many shifts as I can for this next month to save as much money as I can. I already have one credit card paid off and two that ar almost paid off, that just leaves me with one credit card, the truck, car insurance and two life insurance policies. And the place I have the loan for my SUV told me after the baby gets here if I need the time off I can put a hold on the payment for up to two months, we might be able to do that with Mike's bike payment also. That would make me feel better in the beginning to know everything will be taken care of while I am at home unable to work.

It is a double wide. It is a little under 1000 sq.ft. so I was worried about how small the rooms would be, but it was surprisingly spacious inside it is a 3/2 also so we have our own bathroom with a seperate shower and glamour bath. I think it just makes up some room with the fact that there isn't really much of a dining room, except for a small space next to the kitchen and the washer and dryer don't have there own room, they are on the other side of the kitchen. But the two kids rooms are even pretty darn big. We had looked at a mobile ho,e with 1200 sq. ft. and those bedrooms were smaller then these. And it smells good inside, even with the lady having a BIG a__s cat and two big dogs. So that took care of that deal breaker, at least where Mike is concerned. With him it absolutely cannot stink when he walks in that door or he turns right back around.

Well I am finally going to go grocery shopping. I've been trying for 3 days now but everything with this house, looking at it and putting in the offer, I haven't had a chance. So I'm going now. Then we go to pick up the papers with the owners signature on them to take to our bank. So I will be gone for most of the rest of the day. See you all later though. Have wonderfull days. And see rb, I told you I would be in your shoes pretty soon. :-) Now I get to pack.

yeah... it is pretty scary to cut income like that.... I'm feeling the same way... but, we can do it! We'll just have to tighten the budgets a little more! ------- I'm trying very hard to feel positive about this!

rb - May 26

hey girls - D - i guess we'll all have to be budgeting a little bit more... i think we'll all do great... i wonder where everyone is... didn't hear from tara at all yesterday and wonder if cora is still on her trip... how're you feeling this morning?

D - May 26

I'm feeling paranoid this morning. My stomach just doesn't feel right, and I'm working myself up over it. I'm probably just having more gas or something dumb like that - but my mind keeps worrying something is wrong with the baby...

rb - May 26

i know how that is... it's weird because we're past the "scary" part but still - i get worked up too if i have a cramp here and there or if it just doesn't feel right - i think if we could just be at home and relax then it would be easier (with our puppies :) - but i think we need to learn to breathe and trust that all will be okay...

D - May 26

I guess its just all part of what someone said to me the other day.... "you'll be worrying for the rest of your life".

D - May 26

I also worry my fibroid is acting up... If this baby would just wake up and give me a good kick, I think I'd feel better!

RB - May 26

can't the babies hear us by now? - i've started talking to baby and wonder if they can hear us... that's why i'm going to try and find out the s_x tomorrw... so i can stop calling him/her "it"...

jess - May 26
