Girls..We're on # 3 already..So far things seem to be going great for all of us. Here's to happy weeks on the 2nd tri board. C.

Nicole - November 1

I posted in the last thread before I saw you started a new one. Camilla I think our posts crossed. I will copy and past my last entry. TRACY did you hear the hb? I am so jealous. I don't know why I don't just suck it up and get a doppler. 400-600 trick or treaters...did you just sit with the door open all night? I just pulled up my next Dr's visit and it is next week. I didn't realize it was so soon. I guess I will schedule the u/s then. I hope to have it before Thanksgiving. That would be so neat to tell people what you are having at dinner. 4 of my sisters are flying in for Thanksgiving. We are rarely together. MONIQUE I was just in LA for a night. We drove there from San Diego and then flew home. That flight is sooo long and my dh hates to travel. I was actually thankful we didn't get to sit together...he gets so grumpy. I hope you don't have to do that trip to much longer. My family has a trip planned to Nevius in Feb we will be 7 months what do you think about traveling out of the country at 7 months? I am a little nervous. BEAN that is great people noticed you were pregnant...I think people just think I have gotten fat. You were in AZ right? What part? 3 of my sisters and and my Mom live there. CAMILLA I think I have gained 3...but this is my first. It is sad that we grow away from our friends once we are in different stages of life. My best friend and I grew up together...she helped me through my father's death, we were drinking buddies etc...she is still single and our friendship has changed. She is still going out 4-5 nights a week when all I can think about is going to bed. It is sad to grow apart. JODI don't work to hard. it will catch up to you. I hope everyone else is doing well. Have a great day!.

Monique, you're in your 14th week, stay here, you're not cheating! :-) Luckily, I've not had any back pain at all, and didn't really suffer from it in the past either. But I know it can get really bad, so I hope you can get some treatment soon!! Jodi, I also feel I'm showing more now. Also today, my scales insisted I've put on 10lbs in all. Hmm...Not much I can do, I don't piggy out, just eat normally I guess. And I've been feeling fairly active, so I don't know. I can imagine that in the next few weeks we'll suddenly all start popping out..Bean, are you still in normal pants? Is anyone still wearing their normal pants, closed? I've switched to maternity jeans and stuff, some are too big still but more comfortable. I also started getting some acid reflux today. Yuck. Hope I don't get it as bad as last time. I tried the yoghurt 'trick' someone here recommended, maybe that'll help. Anyway, Jodi..that's great you are feeling something. How exciting. I am not feeling a thing (though I'm normally slim), but like I said before, I never do before I get to at least 18 weeks. And even then it's just the lightest of flutters. Plus my doc said my placenta is to the front, which often means you feel the kicking less. Tracy, pressure in the lower abdomen? I've definitely got that. Especially when I bend over, I can feel this weight deep down, it's a strange feeling. Of course the baby doesn't weigh much, but there's the placenta, the waters, the larger uterus, the increased blood supply. No wonder we feel pressure! Those sharp pains you get sometimes, seem to be really common. We all seem to get them at some point. I think it's just to do with tugging and pulling at bits and pieces inside. And I definitely can't lie flat on my stomach either. I sleep kinda half turned sideways/to the front. I'm also thinking of buying one of these sausage pillows, we'll see. They do make sleep a lot better. I've got my next appointment on the 17th, normally it's every 4 weeks like you said. But I'm not going in for the AFP, if I were, I'd have to go in sooner. And yep, time does seem to go by quickly, though looking ahead there seem a lot of months still out there...Bean, it's exciting people offered you congrats, realizing you looked pregnant. See, it's really happening..no need to worry!! Nicole, 3lbs, I envy you!! Your Thanksgiving plans sound nice. 4 sisters, that's cool. You have a big family. Did you girls all get on well? Do they have kids yet? About your best friend, my best friend still doesn't have any kids either, and she is already at the 'high risk' age, but we are still close. I think all friendships go through phases, like sometimes you will feel worlds apart, but at other times, you get closer again. Sometime later, it's good to have a friend who isn't just into diapers, so you can chat about other stuff. Besides, she probably will go down your route too, it's just a matter of time. So, then you might feel closer again. Anyway,Halloween was fun, the kids had a great time. They came home with lbs and lbs worth of candy, I've had to ration it a bit. Pretty much as soon as they got home, they went to sleep. They were soo beat, from all that walking. Well girls, gotta go and drink something, all this scribbling has made me thirsty. See ya, C.

bean - November 1

Hey Ladies - part 3? Did we miss a part 2? Anyway... Nicole - I was in Scottsdale for the wedding. We actually traveled the whole week before - Jerome, Sedona, the Canyon, then Strawberry & Pine, and back into town. The wedding was at the botanical gardens and the reception at the Tortilla Factory in Old Town - really fun! It was my best friend who got married, so I'm happy that she's at least married. Hopefully will be thinking about kids soon. It was tough when we got married 5 years ago and she was still very single. I was afraid we'd drift apart as well. Thank goodness it didn't happen. I also can't believe you've only gained 3 lbs!!! Wow! I'm definitely up to 9 now. Camilla - yup, I'm still in normal pants, but not my size. I've bought a bunch of size 8 jeans and cords (one size larger than my usual) and they're all pretty big on me still. So I think I'll be able to pull these off through Thanksgiving anyway. I definitely feel flutters now and then. Sometimes tiny little movements and other times huge bursts that seem more like a ligament going for a walk than the baby. Can't wait for my appt on Thursday. I'm not going for the AFP either (just out of choice) so it should be a quick appt - just listen to the hb. Enjoy the day girls!

bean - November 1

Hey girls - this is a really unimportant question, but when we're 16 wks, are we 4 mths pg, or just 3 mths 2 wks? I'm 15wks and people were asking this past weekend you're about 4 mths, right? And I said nope, just 3... but now thinking about it... should I have said yup, almost 4?

Camilla - November 1

Bean, I called this part 3, because it's the third one with this t_tle. I started the first one (Signs of Pregnancy Gals got BFP in August?), Jodi continued our thread (but we didnt' call it part 2), so the one I continued today is already part 3..! Time's going fast. About the months, well you can always say you're in your 4th month. Which is what you are. I mumbled something about that in the maternity store the other day, cuz I didn't want the a__sistant to think I looked fat, ha ha. Counting pregnancy months is confusing, cuz we say it lasts 9 months, but it's 10 lunar months or something like that. 10x 4 weeks. So at 16 weeks, you're 4 months by that lunar calendar, and 3 months and a half otherwise. Well, just tell them whatever you feel like telling them :-)

Tara - November 1

Hi ladies, I was busy taking the kids out Trick or treating last night. Hubby handed out Candy. My kids wont share candy with me but it good because I guess I really dont need it. About friends three of my best childhood friends are single and still out partying, but I think they both would like to settle down if they found Mr. Right. Im now the boring one that stays at home with the kids, but thier still wonderful friends that have continued to keep in touch with me and I feel like thier more like sisters that just havent settled down yet. In a week Ill tell everyone Im pregnant. Nicole, my appointment is on November 8, whens yours? bean, glad you had a good time at the wedding! take care girls

Emma - November 1

Hi everyone, I just found you, but I posted on other board as well! I had dr.'s appt. today, everything went great. I actually haven't gained any weight yet (although I have slight bulge), I have just been too sick. It was weird having Dr. tell me to GAIN weight, which I'm sure I will soon. Gained 40lbs with 2 other pregnancies!! I have actually been wearing Maternity for 6 wks., my bloated stomach just hurt to wear my old pants, and I didn't want to buy bigger, to just have to go to maternity. No one can really tell so far that they are maternity. Hope everyone is good, Emma

Monique - November 2

CAMILLA -okay I'm staying (crossing my arms and stomping my foot! lol) EMMA- so glad your appt.went well!! No weight?? Wow. 2 weeks ago I was up 4 pounds. BEAN - yay!! 2 more days. Why have you chosen not to do the AFP? I haven't given it any thought, so just want your take. EVERYONE - During your first pregnancy (is it just me & Bean on #1?), did you ever find yourself resentful that your dh gets to carry on life as usual?? Last night my dh went to an annual Halloween party--our FAVORITE event of the year-- and I got a little p__sy today hearing about all the FUN he had (I was at home with terrible back pain-btw, MUCH better today). Intellectually I know it's silly and I'm about to get something MUCH better, but still emotionally I admit I was resentful. Has anyone else had feelings like this? Tell me I'm not alone!! LOL. Also do you think I should talk to him about it so he "gets why" I might seem snappish? Advice please! Have a GREAT day!!

Nicole - November 2

Good Morning beautiful ladies. MONIQUE I keep telling my dh it isn't fair that I will get hemroids, stretch marks, my hips will spread, nausea, etc...etc and we will both get to enjoy this baby. I don't know why I say that maybe because I am pushing for those diamond earings after I have the baby. I don't tell him the joy I will have bringing this life into this world, feeling the baby move inside of me, the bond we will share when I nurse. I don't think I resent my husband but for some reason I want him to really respect what I am doing for us. We are going out with friends on Sat and guess who the Desginated Driver is...that is not fun but as you sad just a little sacrifice. BTW this is also my first baby. CAMILLA I have 5 sisters with 12 neices and nephews. this will be number 13 so nobody really gets to excited. My mom's husband has 4 kids so between the two of them there are 27 grandkids already...and we are not even close to being done. I am sorry about the acid reflex I know I will get it soon. BEAN 3 of my sisters and my Mom live right outside of Scotsdale. I lived there for two years...it is beautiful but too hot...I like the snow. TARA my appointment is on the 9th last time I was one day before you right? AFP is the genetic test...right? My Dr hasn't said a word to me. My dh won't talk to me about it. I think he thinks if we don't discuss it it won't be an issue. EMMA I got on the scale this morning and it said I had only gained 2 pounds...yesterday it said 3. I don' know we will see what the Dr says. I am wearing a size bigger pants. I can still fit into my pants but they are very uncomfortable. That makes me nervous everyone has gained more. TRACY did you hear the hb? Are you glad you rented the doppler? Have you told people at work yet? Have a wonderful days ladies. N

bean - November 2

I chose not to get the AFP done for 2 reasons - one - my health insurance sucks and I'm sure we'd be stuck with the bill. Two - I have absolutely no reason to think there's anything wrong with the baby, so why pay just to find out that everything's ok? If things are not ok, we would never not have the baby, and I wouldn't want to do an invasive amino, so I would just be left with 6 months of worry. I certainly don't need that. Monique - I feel the same way about dh carrying on life. In fact, this past week on our vacation was a HUGE to-do. I was the matron of honor, so I took the girls out for the bachelorette party. Drove them all around while they got p__sy at cheap bars. In the mean time, dh, who was supposed to go out with the guys and then meet up with us later in the evening, ended up getting totally wasted and I was picking his *ss up at 3am! Believe me, I was furious! We had quite an argument about it. I told him it was his responsibility to take care of me, not to make me hunt him down in a town we don't know in the middle of the night. Of course, the whole next day he was sick and therefore useless. I mean, he's 31yrs old - a little too old to be partying like a college kid. Anyway... Nicole - I'm not sure dh understands the whole get wife a gift after baby is born thing. I have 6 months to drop hints and let him know. I don't "need" diamond earrings, but if all I get are flowers I'll be pretty upset. About the weight gain - everyone is different girls. Don't worry at all about not gaining much yet! 3lbs by the end of the first trimester is very healthy. I was slightly underweight when I got pg, so my first 5lbs were instand almost - like my body was saying need to start storing fat! My bbs exploded from training bra size to a healthy B-cup. Now I'm starting to put on the pudge. I'm worried my dct is going to say 10lbs already!!! But I'm still under 130lbs, which is average for a non-pg woman my height, so I'm not worried. Have a great day ladies! Time to get some work done!

Camilla - November 2

Hi everyone..Emma, and everyone who has already bought maternity clothes, where did you buy them? I got some nice pants at Motherhood, jeans without the panel. Considering they're maternity they look pretty cool. I looked at Old Navy online, saw some pants I liked there too. I don't want to buy too much, since it's our last baby. I definitely need to buy some u/wear, skimpy thongs just don't cut it at the moment!! Monique, glad you're staying but sorry about the back pain. About dh's having a more fun time, I don't really think he's got a better life partying, he spends a lot of time working hard. We both don't go out much due to the kids, so we are both tied. So, the good news is Bean, once you have a bunch of beanlets, you won't have to drive around town picking up hubby. ;-) But I do envy him for not subjecting his body to this, he'll look just as great at the end of these 9 months, whereas I'll look like an overstuffed whale. But yeah, I get to feel the baby inside me, I get to grow it..that's amazing. Wouldn't trade that for anything. I do envy him a bit that he can have a drink or two, but he thinks it's more fun with me..Nicole, it's nice you have such a large family. How many do you yourself want? My parents are excited about this new one, but my in-laws have so many between them, it doesn't seem a big deal. Probably just another birthday to remember, ha ha. About the birth gifts, diamonds are always welcome, but I'm not counting on any for delivery. I don't know, it's not something we've really considered. Having the baby is expensive enough..Actually I would be happy with flowers..Bean, maybe yours can be diamond encrusted..;-) Well, gotta fix my little one and me some more breakfast..Eggs on toast maybe? C.

Camilla - November 2

Hmmm..on second thoughts..The whole diamond idea is growing on me girls!! I mean why not, really?! I spose I wouldn't say no..if I had too...:-)

bean - November 2

esp now that you can get those "man-made" diamonds. I saw an ad in a magazine last week for a 1.78 c ring (3 stone) for less than $200!

Tara - November 2

Hi ladies, Nicole, my appointment is one day before yours on Nov 8 and you were one day before last time.I went to family doctor to make sure UTI was gone because I finished antibiotics and its still there, but I dont feel it. Im on more antibiotics and thier doing a culture to find out whats going on . Im sick of this infection. Is your gone? Bean, Im like Camilla, My hubby has no time to go out drinking and he works a lot so any free time he comes home to be with our kids. Once you have kids men change, my husband wasent always this good. I dont think Ill get any gifts after the baby. My hubby isnt very romantic anymore, but I know when the baby arrives he will do a fair share of diaper changes and he was really good when I would pump b___st milk bottles and feeding baby in the night so I can sleep. Hes was really wonderful with our last two and loved helping out. I really couldent ask for more. Emma, glad to hear things are going good. take care everyone!

Camilla - November 2

Bean..man-made stones? Naah! Now that I'm into it, only the real bling counts. I'm not delivering a plastic dolly am I? I'm popping the real thing!

Nicole - November 2

CAMILLA I agree with you. My dh gave me diamond earrings when we were dating. He looked at me one day and said those are girlfriend diamonds....you need wife diamonds. I can't agree with him more. I don't NEED diamonds but that would be nice. I had a client that gave birth to her 5th baby. Her dh bought her a 5 carat ring...one carat for each child. That is a bit much.
