Anyone Going To Bank The Cord Blood

I have been reading lately about cord blood banking, and even after reading about it, it seems I didnt get much info. Do many people do this? Is it expensive? Does your doctor do it, or does someone else come in? Or, has anyone done this with a previous baby? This is my first baby and it is something I had never even heard of until recently. Just wondering what everyone thinks. Thanks

we're banking it back into our baby. the cord will not be cut or clamped untill it stops pulsing. untill then it's still puming oxegenated blood to the baby. it comes in handy if your baby takes a minute or two to get the hang of the whole breathing air thing. mine both took a few seconds to breath. #1 his cord was clamped and he turned blue and was rushed to the nicu. #2 kept her cord going and had no problems.

Good point, i have heard that clamping the cord too early is bad for your baby. Can you keep the cord going until the baby is stable and then bank the cord blood? I really need any info anyone has, or past experiences like Maleficent. Thanks
