Braxton Hicktons Spelling

Hi. Just a question for anyone who knows. I've been having tight balling feeling in my uterus and then it will relax. Its not constant just once in awhile. I've heard of braxton hicktons- but usually not until you are 7-8-9 months, I'm only coming up on 19 wks (this is my 2nd pregnancy). Is this normal to be feeling this early and is it really braxton hicktons? (I don't want my body preparing for labor already!!!!!) Or is it just one of those growing uterus things? Thanks for any help or info : )

Ask your doctor. I've heard "yes" from other moms, you can have them earlier each pregnancy. However, my doctor said "no". I'm having them too at nearly 19 weeks and she said I should not be having any contractions (braxton or not) until 28 weeks or later. She didn't say much else other than if I get several in an hour to call. My cervix is also shortening, but don't panic, I doubt it's from the bh as I know other people having them and their cervix is fine. Just talk to your doctor.

my doc said it's normal, and braxton hicks can start anytime during pregnancy, it's just usually not that noticeable. I am also having them. He also suggested that the baby may be long enough to stretch from end to end of the uterus and this might be accounting for some of the pressure and tightening i'm feeling.

I have gotten Braxton Hicks once for about an hour. I am 18 weeks. I havent' asked my doctor yet, but I have an appointment this week and it's on my list of things to ask about. When i get an answer I will let you know what she says.
