I just got back from my ob visit- I am 21 wks- they told me that my ultrasound showed my little girl might have a clubbed foot- ?could have been how she was sitting-but I have to go for a level 2 ultrasound monday.I've been reading up a little on exactly what it is and how it's corrected. Just wondering if any one has gone through this before

Hi Honeybea! I went through the exact same thing. At my first ultrasound, they thought the foot was clubbed, but couldn't be sure. I've had two ultrasounds (level 2) to check and each time they said it looked borderline. A lot of the time it's just positional. Today, I had another ultrasound and FINALLY they got a crystal clear side view of the foot which is essential in diagnosing club foot. Luckily it looked perfectly normal so they told me it was probably just bad angles and the way the baby was positioning his feet during the previous 2 ultrasounds. In either case, club foot is not the worst prognosis. Unless severe, it can be corrected by casting and bracing instead of surgery and the long term affects are minimal to say the least. Having only one foot clubbed is also better than both (obviously). If everything else looks good, I wouldn't worry much. There are just a lot of false positive diagnoses of club foot because of the difficulty in getting clear views via ultrasound. Good luck and let us know!
