This may be stupid to ask but where I live has had some cold weather latley. Usually I never get sick but ever since the weather got colder I have a horrible head cold and starting a chest cold. Im not sure of what I can take and can the cold hurt the baby?

My doc said Sudifed or Tylenol is fine. I asked which Tylenol and he said any of them.

Personally, I'm just gonna ride out whatever head cold I get... drink herbal tea with honey, sleep more, drink lots of water & orange juice, be miserable for a few days 'til it's over. I really just don't want to put any drugs in my body at this time, not even homeopathic ones.... no matter what some doctor or "expert" says.

I was trying to "ride it out", but then I got a fever with the chest cold. I talked to my pharmacist and he said to take tylonal to keep the fever down, but no more than 4 doses a day. I think the theory is that the tylonal is less dangerous to the fetus than a lingering fever is. I am also using a humidifier, which is helping with the chest cold itself.

That's an anomaly that your cold turned more serious. It doesn't sound like the average head cold. Fever is more serious to deal with during pregnancy of course. But a regular head cold doesn't hurt a fetus. I've already had two so far this pregnancy, and the doc says my baby's fine.

Thanks for your help

Just an FYI be careful of some herbal remedies. They can be cautioned to use when pregnant. I have some teas for colds etc, I just went to have some this weekend and there were warnings. So I skipped that one.
